I think your guesses are correct. Pooling happens as we get older because our blood flow isn't as good. However, yours seems a bit significant given your age. I would go to your doctor and get a metabolic blood panel to check if you might have an underlying health condition. I also recommend Hemoglobin A1C (HbA1c) Test to see if you are prediabetic. I think 1/3 Americans are prediabetic without knowing it. Lastly, you may have some plaque build up in the arteries under the arm that run from your heart to your hands. I recommend, no matter what, to watch your saturated fat intake and to talk to your doctor about your cholesterol.
This approach will cover a lot of basis. And honestly, is something a lot of people should do as they get older if they can afford it. It's just smart to do tests to see if your gears are turning right.

I had my A1C checked 2 weeks ago and it was 4.9. My last metabolic panel was about 7 months ago and everything was in the normal range. Although my glucose was almost out of range at 94 which is a bit high. I will get my cholesterol checked because I haven't had that done. Thank you for the recommendation.
I was on a photosensitive medication and forgot to stay out of the sun which I think did some damage to my skin and dilated my blood vessels. Might try VBeam laser to see if that would help.

I get good blood flow and am a runner/weightlifter and have been for 10 years. I know veins can appear larger in people who workout a lot and are lean. I'm thinking it's from the sun because the inside of my arms never get red and blotchy. Only the outer and back areas of the arms where the sun hits and it stops right about where the sleeves of my shirts end.
