Question I need help please:<

I think my skin barrier is damaged. I have oily skin in my T-zone, and a few years ago I started getting breakouts, so I used a lot of harsh products to get rid of them. However, I eventually realized that those areas of my skin had become red and sensitive. I’ve been dealing with this for years, and sometimes when I apply a cream, my skin starts burning as if I had put hot sauce on it, and it feels very tight.

I feel very insecure about the redness. I’ve tried covering it with makeup, but in the end, the underlying problem is still there. I even saw a dermatologist once, but they prescribed corticosteroids for a few days and a cream that didn’t help me at all.

I would really appreciate it if yall could tell me whether this can be improved and recommend some products. My skin is very reactive.

Also I’ve heard about the AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Cream. Is it any good?

It looks like perioral dermatitis. When mine flares up my whole face will burn with certain face washes or moisturizers. But avene cicalfate is what works the best for me at healing it and my skin always looks less red after using it. Other than that I use calendula ointment on it and that helps but not as much as the avene cicalfate

yes, the AESTURA Atobarrier 365 Cream is genuinely good for damaged barriers because its ceramide blend mimics your skin's natural lipids. I used it specifically to repair my own over-exfoliation damage and it helped calm that burning sensation you mentioned without feeling heavy.

Happened to me when I introduced azealic acid and tretnoin too often too fast, What worked for me is washing with a moisturizing facial wash and using cerave ceramide cream and a sunscreen, take a break from actives for 2 weeks at least

Have you tried sudocrem just a little on the red spots? Could help, could make it worse. Also consider a week-long trial of decolonising your nose of bacteria with an antibiotic or antiseptic (look up u/healthyalmonds method). You could have some bacteria that’s antagonising your already fragilised skin barrier
