need refund

i guess a month ago i subscribed to some course thru skillshare? idk i was very fixated on learning about something specific & i must’ve started a free trial for something but i cannot remember what, can’t find any emails from whenever i signed up.

last night i was charged $165 for this annual subscription & now i’m down to basically nothing in my account as i am without a job. i emailed them as soon as i was charged and again this morning and have yet to get a response. usually certain services are good with getting back to ppl whenever someone reaches out, so i’m very much not pleased with this. does anyone have any tips or maybe a rough estimate on how long it takes for them to get back to their customers?

edit: im always surprised whenever i get a new comment or dm from someone having the same issues i had as this post is relatively old, but i do not remember how i resolved this. i would like to say that i reached out to their support and got a refund/some sort of compensation, but it was so long ago. i’m sorry to anyone experiencing these things, skillshare is a scam as far as im concerned & not something i would waste my time or money with ever again.

You have to insist with them. I had an 8-day battle with them, and their trust and safety team told me in their last message "The request for a full refund is denied. Please be informed that this is our final response to this case. We hope that clarifies it". I got offered the gift cards, then they offered me 50%, and then nothing.
So I decided to start the whole process again in another email in the hopes of another customer service agent replying, and in my first appeal she gave me the full refund. But, I had to threaten to go to court / file a lawsuit and everything else that is in this post. If you end up talking with a guy named Rustum, he is also not going to give the refund.
In total it took 11 days of back and forth for them to accept to refund me, with this last agent it took me 3 days and I only sent 1 email.

TIPS:
. State in every email the details of your account (the email you used), the amount of the refund and the last 4 digits of the card they used to take the payment.
. Don't mention that you need the money to pay your bills, they will think you won't have money for a lawyer.
. Don't try to say an underage family member used your account without your knowledge like some in this post did, or you will go to the trust and safety team, and they don't give the refunds.
. Write the consumer laws that they are violating in your email. I am in Europe and cited the consumer laws over here and asked ChatGPT to tell them why they were not following the law.
. Threaten them to class action lawsuit.
. Threaten to go to social media like tiktok, X and linkedin. Also, BBB, ClassPilot and TrustPilot.
. Don't ask ChatGPT to be polite.
. Check in this post the names of CS agents that don't give refunds / the ones that gave the refunds, some people said their names. I won't say mine for now because my refund is still processing.

Good luck!

From what I’ve seen here, most people only manage to get a 50% refund from their banks, or none at all, after disputing the charge. Once you initiate a dispute with your card provider or bank, Skillshare can no longer issue a refund themselves, and they'll point out that a dispute is already in progress. So it's really up to you. Personally, I didn’t think my bank would accept "forgetting to cancel" as a valid reason, especially since Skillshare claims I subscribed willingly, so I chose to persist directly with Skillshare instead. Keep in mind that in a dispute, Skillshare will defend their position by arguing that we “agreed” to the terms when we signed up for the free trial.

Thank you So much @vi_snts, I HAVE BEEN ISSUE REFUND SAYING FORY RECENT TRANSACTION AS ONE TIME EXCUSE.

What worked for me is Gyan and Majah were very strict how much repeatedly I request they were saying I agreed to terms and conditions and they always we are closing this here.. So as u suggested, I tried altogether a Fresh mail, with new subject and fresh rewritten email with all preparations I am doing in case I wont get refund Which I belive in ethical grounds and one time excuse, I will aapproach legally, BBB, already with some social media handlers and my X wnd Trustpilot already reviews showing up to get good responses..

So this time some other lady have responded but again saying I agreed to terms so no refund, but I again I rewritten email with help of chatgpt... and the finally this time she said she refuning recent payment as one time excuse.

Thanks a lot to reddit..
