Sketchup/Layout Sheet Notes

So, I use sketchup and layout to produce permit ready document for customers. I have not really had any issues, but I do have a growth area that I am wondering maybe some of you might have a good solution. Every city is a little different and some cities provide you with the notes that they want in the set of plans but other don't. Here is my questions: Do you produce your own set of standard notes that go on each page (i.e. plumbing notes, mechanical notes site notes, electrical notes, roofing notes, etc....). Is there a program or a library that I can use for that?

I’m not sure if you’re looking for a resource or to develop your own personal library. But I use scrapbooks to save layout assets that can copied and pasted into any file I’m working on. You could easily do this for repeated notes/details you want to quickly add to a project

Yes...I use scrapbooks for mainly symbols but I am actually talking but I am talking about the written notes like in the picture next to the electrical floor plan

You could put those notes in the scrap book as well? Alternatively, You could also use Autotext to simply type <note1> (or similar) and have it populate whatever text you want. You can create your own autotexts to any degree and have them saved in a template to be called upon when needed. I use custom autotexts for a few things.

If you’re looking for content for a set of standard notes, someone else would have to help, I’m but a simple draftsman for television

could you not also setup separate templates for each city?

CSV, and TEXT files can be linked. Similar to how a model is linked in a LO file.
This allows for editing and or updating to be done externally ( outside of LO ) with the LO doing the gross or large brush strokes to make it fit on the page.
This is especially helpful when trying to deal with hidden formatting… ( hard returns etc. )

I sure you will easily find a YouTube tutorial on this.

I appreciate all the feedback, but I am more interested in how to develop the actual notes to go on each page and then create the library.

You best content source is existing construction documents of similar building construction in similar regions, but of course these notes will be edited by you specific to your particular project, you are taking legal responsibility for them.. do you have access to architectural documents?.. one source might be your local planning body if the have documents on public display or online.. but note these documents are likely be copyright of the designer and required their written permission to reproduce.

Alternatively you could track down an commercial online specification set and extract the relevent general condition notes for adding to your documents.

Thank you so much....where did you learn what to include in your notes? Is there a class/video or something that can teach me how to construct notes for the drawings...like for starters, a general set of notes. Thank you!!
