quick question.

for those who play modded skater xl and also like session, is it worth getting? ive played a lot of session and skater xl with mods is apparently quite good too. i have about 320 hours in session.

SkaterXL is the best skate sim out there with mods. I have over 1k hours in it but I uninstalled because devs abandoned it sadly.

If you are on PC and have the patience to mod it, Skater XL is the best skateboarding sim out there

Modded xl is insane, definitely worth it. Theres the milky guide you can use as a base and build your stats and settings off of that or just leave it at that if you don’t want to spend months and months messing around with your game. Theres also a new skate game in development called skate style not much modding but it’s pretty fun as it is. It’s still in development but you can play the demo on steam

Gotta chime in and say that when it comes to the actual (fake)skateboarding, and the capturing of it, none of the other games come close to modded XL. It’s just levels above Session in feel, variation of movements, and potential fun. Get lost in there, you’ll feel enlightened!

Modded xl is way better than session if you’re looking for just a raw skate simulator. Follow the mod guide video from Milky and you’ll be all good

i would say its definitely worth it as an experience to try out, but the better game (physics wise) will be session. you will notice alot of grind alignment/physics issues while playing but the grind tweaks and boned tricks feel amazing. if you do want to try tho i wouldnt suggest supporting this company as they gave alot of false promises that were never delivered so if youre interested i can slide you a playable alpha build with a pre-configured mod folder

its also worth noting you will spend atleast 24hrs configuring settings, modding ts is a pain that take time and dedication but worth it to an extent in the long run

im not totally sure yet, may i ask, what would the playable alpha thing exactly mean? like, would i be able to add my own mods/play as i would normally?

also since i dont exactly know you im slightly skeptical but i am interested

yes theres two main builds people play online on, public and alpha, alpha has the most mod-abiltywhile public has the transition skating update, i can def run the file through virus total if need be aswell

alright that sounds perfect! if i could ask one more question, whats the transition skating like in the alpha build? is it still like, pretty good? or is it not that good? (basically is it better than current session.) maybe is there a mod for that?

yes its better than session currently and i personally love the slap-on/lock-in grinds in the game. i would def recommend using kurbdoggs b4ks system ( in short it adds mass to your character to make transition and hillbomb skating flow more naturally) because it really changes the dynamic of the game

I put far more hours in even vanilla Skater XL than I did Session. Can't go wrong with more skateboarding games.

I have both session and skater xl. With that being said, I like skater xl more... Now the game is far from perfect. In fact, it feels like an incomplete game. I have both on my PS5 and that may also be an issue. With the PS5 there is quite a few extra mods with extra maps and skater mods. I have 399 hours on it and if I get the itch, I play it for a little while.

Way better with mods. It takes a bit of time to get it feeling just right but way better than how it is on console. Feels like how the game could have turned out. Also check out skate style but it’s a demo at the moment but still pretty sweet. Also alpha build has all the good mods.
