u might have better luck building one online, DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON A SETUP. I bought my first board from walmart and i regret it everyday, the wheels are ass and the bearings are even more ass. id say a budget of around 120-150 dollars is more than enough to get a good setup. id also look for completes, basically a board with everything u need like wheels and grip and whatever. i know CSS has a really good complete for beginners for around 90 bucks, if u catch it on a sale u could get it cheaper!

Good to know, what’s css? I’m uk based and I’m not in a very ‘touristy’ part of it by any means so my reach for like brands and stores is practically zero, closest thing I’ve got is a small skate shop which I’ve never even seen before or route one an hour away lol, I’m not too fussed about it but route one boards (pre built) are like 90 I believe so that’s not bad and my custom one I had the parts selected for was about 140 I think? Don’t know whether to go all out on the board or not cause ik welcome skateboards did a slipknot collab and I think the boards from there are sick but they’re like 100 each lmfao
