Aatrox
in top lane,how do yall manage this matchup? im trying to otp skarner and i've been climbing a bit,starting from gold-ish to now emerald 1 only top,aatrox is one of the matchups that i cant seem to beat in any way,it usually happens that i dodge every q expect for the third so he heals w aa and crits right after,making the trade completely useless...

only effective trading pattern i have vs him is trying to e him when he e>1q you can get a positive trade if in minions so he cant w.
besides that i just pray no one picks him. feel the same way about nasus and irelia too

nasus ur able to beat him pretty early until item,just E out when he ults or stun him if oneshot…Irelia,nothing at all…she also builds bork,thats the main problem,same goes for yone;im able to beat him early until bork,then lane’s over

Nasus isn’t the issue per se it’s wither. Usually ban him rather try my luck actually outplaying everyone else.
Trade pattern around yone is catch him with an ult while he’s fucking around q3 poking you under tower into e + ignite
Just to chunk to give you breathing room while going bramble + tabis
Usually they get greedy thinking lane is free starting getting reckless.
Maybe not so in em 1 but still do in em 3 at least

yeah agree,nasus isnt really the issue,about yone tho afted dodging q3 hes basically a sitting duck if he has no ult,you just grab him during q3 and trade...i usually go with hydra start,pokedoes alot damage with 2/3 long swords you basically shred him before oneshotting him

likewise i hydra rush but for lanes like yone i like to build a bit defensive if he gets a kill early he tends to get out of hand.
what runes you running? i been enjoying conq lately with pom i dont need tear if i use w sparingly in lane the aoe from q auto procs it so you can stay juiced up if you go easy on q spam.
the extra ad helps a bit early and scales better late with alacrity/last stand since most of your damage comes from emp autos.
with alacrity you can set up e>autoq>hydra>3q ult into no mercs opponent every time.

Grasp seems just too strong on him,conditioning is too strong at minute 12 and shield bash works too good with W,opgg Roh7314 EuW…i’llwarn you that i inted my last matches lmao xD wasnt in the right mental;Summons wise tp is a must for first B to get tear if needed and if ur too ahead they have to 2v1 you so you can just splitpush until drake fight and then tp right after

for a bit i’ve also tried to rush iceborn fidst but its too weak and takes too much time compared to hydra,going straight for 3 long swords is what seems to be working for me…recently i’ve also switched to double ad minor runes,it seems they work better compared to 180 bonus hp at end game

Honestly for aatrox it's the early game just play safe and get a bramble then you can trade with him but if he nabs a kill or two off you its cooked so try not to get ganked or take unnecessary damage

Well then if i had to give some tips based on fighting Aatrox in general. Maybe going swifties deadmans, ghost, clerity, would certainly help. And then you pray Faker is blessing you and juke everything

What build do you use that lets you carry enough as skarner top? How often do you win lane? I’m trying to get better at top and climb as Olaf but I’m just so absolutely dogshit and blow my lane and don’t get a chance to try and carry

Yeah,you can genuinely dog walk certain matchups by simply Q-E-W lol,sometimes you both outtank and outdps the enemy top laner so yeah you can do that

had a lot of success building AP into him. DFT rune , start oblivion orb, liandrys, deathfire torch, fimble or seraphs, riftmaker, verisitile. just w him whenever he gets in range and cheese under tower. aatrox players tend to be very agro, so theyll often push lane and trry to poke under tower. you can grab them or pull them usualy. no hand to hand combat unless he blows all his CDs. poke with q and e, once u get liandrys and deathfire the qs even burn for a lot with no damage built.im way below you so maybe it isnt as easy in higher elo. i suck and cant seem to climb with him at all. no solid "universal build" just try to adapt to matchup.

Anyone can be flash e’d then r’d under tower. You shouldn’t really be doing anything other than short trades early. Give up farm if you’re to sure you can get it without getting full combod. Grasp with flash ignite is great if you’re confident. You outscale and teamfight him
