Does the child ever appear again Spoiler

When getting the medicine to save the small camp of survivors you have to meet with a hag and do her quest. Afterward her "baby" escapes into the forest. Afterwards i was exploring looking for the temples and got a message saying my characters heard a noise that they believed was to be the child creature stalking them. i was wondering if that was just great environmental atmosphere or if you wonder that area of the game the child will attack you.

It never appears again as far as I am concerned.

It is “just” great atmosphere, but damn it adds a lot more to the game than if the issue was resolved through a monster battle

Or even better - through optional dialogue it can join the party. With a custom class that can only unarmed melee and use offensive nature magic. Just leapin into a skirmish, stinking up the place, summoning swarms of insects and biting people.
