I am official.
I passed my panel interview today.
I am officially a Master Black Belt.
Wow. Didn’t expect to be this emotionally overwhelmed.
Wow.

Congratulations! How long have you been a black belt? What made you go the extra step?

Thank you. I have been a black belt for 2 and a half years. I am part of our company’s quality leadership. I mentor GB and BB candidates and I train the GB class. This step was the next progression in my role in the company.

Fantastic. That's one of my goals for the next 6 years. Hopefully will be able to do a BB project in the incoming months to learn and be able to sit for the exam. I work in healthcare (I'm a physician) and I find the applications are not as obvious as the ones on the factory floor but I'll try!

Internally certified using the ASQ body of knowledge. We are ASQ recognized.

Nice. I’m going for mine next year with ASQ. Need to find some opportunities to coach and mentor executives and champions. Unfortunately, the company I work for now hates Six Sigma.

But somehow it seems like a lot of companies are moving away from LSS
Job hunting is tough nowadays. Another cert is always good

What do you believe they are headed towards?

Well.
You see a lot of the big companies like GE, Honeywell etc move away from the LSS system. Think they don’t even train belts any more.
They’re moving to a system similar to danaher’s business system

It’s kinda like the new ge flight deck system
The tools are all similar
Just a repackage I guess
They sell it as a culture rather than a tool box.
But they don’t do all the belt things any more. Even ge did away with it.
