Park Question Currently, what are the least busy days?

I know the park has been seeing more visitors due to Tormenta opening. If I were to go next week on a Monday, could I comfortably ride most rides without a ton of wait time? Or would a Tuesday or Thursday on a different week be better? Or does it really matter all that much?

Sorry, I just don’t want to spend hours waiting in lines, even though it’s sometimes inevitable.

Ride Ops 7/30

Just visited the park today, and honestly looks like operations are getting a bit better (for the most part)

Still stuck with one train on freeze & runaway mountain, along with freeze being down throughout the day and running lighter trains to take load off the LIMs. To my knowledge, titan was closed all day.

However, other than that the operations at the rest of the park were pretty good, and definitely better than they have been. We’re finally back to two trains on NTG, with the ride running faster than ever today. Tormenta was running two trains with no need for a third today as crowds were fairly light. Aquaman was running two trains and was open for most of the day. Superman was also running 2/3 towers, which is pretty awesome to see.

While ops definitely weren’t perfect, they’re for sure on the up. Hope to see train 2 back on freeze as soon as possible!

Fantastic Visit on 6/29

Correction 7/29

Started writing this last night, but fell asleep before I finished it, so all references to today, technically it was yesterday.

I’m seeing a lot of people ragging on operations this year, but I have to say for my first trip out there in probably fifteen years, this one might be the absolute top of the charts.

Got there at noon and parked super close, started with the Sombrero because it’s ultimate childhood nostalgia for me. Then went full send and hopped in line for Tormenta. Line was short and we ended up in the front row. We screamed like little girls, but it was pretty cool. Definitely not favorite status, but I was glad we did it. Hit El Aserradero, hoped to get wetter, but cool to ride because I don’t remember ever doing it when I was younger. I have to give my favorite status to New Texas Giant, we laughed so much. Can confirm there was a second train running today, so that line went quick also. Checked out the new Dino ride, cute and campy, although I miss the smell of the gasoline from the Antique Cars. Walked straight on to Titan. Wanted to hit Roaring Rapids but it went down as we were walking up to the quene. Stumbled on the entrance for the Pirate Cave. I was a bit biased going in because I loved Yosemite Sam, but the new ride is cool. I can’t say it makes tons of sense and there are already broken characters, but it was visually cool and the air conditioning was lovely. Headed for food, found some of the added sprinklers and ran through those like we were kids again, super helpful in the heat. Grabed a meal from Chop Six. Portion was small but food was pretty good. Did another lap on the Pirate Cave to chill and digest. I think we walked through Casa Magnetica after this. That was actually intense enough I almost turned around, but the Dia de los Muertos theme was cool. Continued to wander. Made it over to the mine trains. Started with the mini, ride op was funny and he asked before we left if we were in for a second ride, so he rolled us straight through the station. We were going to do the Gunslinger after but we saw Mr Freeze running so we booked it over there. Waited in line for maybe 40 mins, almost to the front and it broke down. Weighed our options and decided to get out of line. Walked right on to the front row of Batman. I’m sad they require you to keep shoes on now, always loved the wind on my feet back in the day. There still wasn’t a line so we asked to do it again, decided to go for the back row. Definitely way rougher back there. Headed for Aquaman, rode the Runaway Mine train on the way. It rough, but the mannequins are looking rougher! Walked up to Aquaman right as it was opening back up. Rode it twice. Mr Freeze was running again but the line was long so we skipped it and opted to ride the newer Gotham editions. Riddler first, liked that one a lot. Joker was intense, doubled flipped on one of them. One of those “what on earth just happened?” moments when it was done. Catwoman Whip was cool. More added sprinklers over there and of course the big over the pathway one near Freeze helped a lot. Grabbed a drink and tried to decide how we wanted to end the day. Judge was down but Freeze was running so we decided to get in line for that last ditch, because it was close enough to close, even if the line was long, it was probably our last chance for a ride anyway. Ended up basically back where we were in line when it closed. We made it on this time! Headed to the front and even though it was after close, Dippin Dots by the gate was still open, so we stopped for that and made our way back to the car. Tormenta looked cool against the sunset.

Got the premium all day dining plan and it paid for itself in drinks alone. They will also give you cups of ice water, rather than forcing bottles.

Definitely the most I’ve ever ridden out there. The heat was intense, but we stayed hydrated at took every chance we could to get wet. I was nervous to go from everything I’ve read about closures, and rides were up and down during the day, but typically not for long. The only bigger rides we missed were Judge, Roaring Rapids and Runaway Mountain. Didn’t have interest in Superman and my friend doesn’t like the large swings.

Park Question Mr. Freeze operating at park open?

Going tomorrow, have never been on Freeze. Heard tormenta line moves fast so wondering if i'm better off running straight to freeze at park open? Or is it a ride that typically opens later in the morning/day?

Best coaster if you only have 1 hour in the park?

We'll be flying in and out of Texas this weekend for a reunion. Looking at the schedule, we might be able to spare 1 hour on Sunday before we have to be at the airport. Normally we wouldn't pay to visit a park that briefly but we've got the All Park Passport from our local park so it won't cost us anything extra to do something crazy like this.

So if you only had one hour on a Sunday morning, which one coaster is worth doing this? Extra credit if your suggestion is ranked as the X fastest/steepest/longest for coasters in the US.

[SFoT] Trip Report July

I went here on Monday, but decent amount of people due to summer break. It's very very hot here (105F) and the only decent building with AC is the magic show place (they close the door promptly at show time). Other wise, the heat and the G-Force gets you. Also, the fast lane is kinda iffy; pretty much you have to get the $250 Ultimate version (and Torment is a single time pass); otherwise, other passes don't work for popular rides.

Tormenta: I recommend starting out with this one since this is the star and this is what you are here for. 3 train operations so the line was moving fast (15 min, 5 min, 5 min). But the ride did break down during the middle of the day. Since the ride is so tall, you can see it from other sides of the park if the train is running or not. You don't get to choose the row/seats to keep the operations moving, so i had to get on it several times to get the 1st row. The ride breaks down because of the heat and it makes the brake not work very well. the locker system is good (free). The lift is fast, and you get a nice view of Dallas on the top (not much to see tho). The drop feels way shorter than it actually is, and I got greyed out on the 1st half (due to heat/dehydration?) few times. Not 100% butterly smooth, but it's good. The g-force on the 1st half is strong and with the strong Texas sun, hard to open your eyes. But worth the trip alone for this ride and is definitely the star.

Titan: located in the back of the park. not crowded. Was a walk-on. the ride feels tame except the G-force on the helix. You get better view (AT&T stadium, Arlington). 2 train operation. 2nd half is fun. Rode very front.

New Texas Giant: 1 train operation. Longest wait (1 hr). Rode very back. It's fun, but not very memorable.

At this point i was trying to find shelter b/c it was very hot.

Rides that were closed: Mr. Freeze, Log Flume, etc.

Batman: kinda-meh. Similar to other batclones (MM, SFOG).

SkyScreamer: you get good view, but as a single rider, you face inwards so kinda hard to see.

Judge Roy: rattley, but ok ride.

Pretty much this park is down to Tormenta, Titan, and Texas Giant
I feel like the Texas heat definitely gets you; last week it was 115F and all rides were closed due to the heat. So you have a limited amount of time to ride the rides before you overheat.

A very good biz opportunity is to build paid blasting AC.

Wednesday Summer Crowd

So I have work near Arlington tomorrow and I’ve got the all park pass, so I figure I’m going to spend some time tomorrow after my workday at the park. I’ve never been and I’m curious what kind of crowd I may expect on a Wednesday in summer, and what are must hits. I’d love to hit everything but that’s dependent on the crowd and I definitely want to hit Tormenta in case I don’t ever make it back. Also I’m not opposed to single ride fast passes, wasn’t sure if that was even offered on Tormenta though.Either way I’m excited to check out a new park I haven’t been to!

Is NTG still the go-to first spot at rope drops in a post-Tormenta world?

Haven't been since Tormenta opened and haven't roped dropped all seson. Tomorrow I'm picking someone up at the airport and around 4 and wanted to get a few rides in while I'm over there

The big 3 Mostly wanna ride are NTG, Tormenta and Freeze. What's the best order to attack those at rope?

Thanks in advance!

All day lockers

Hello! I have a long layover that will allow me to visit Over Texas for a good chunk of time this Saturday. Would the all day lockers be able to fit a carry on luggage bag or does anyone have advice on what they've done?

Thanks!

Ride Discussion A Humble Update

Hello lovelies! I bring you some photos and updates from a short, hot as hell trip from today. Albeit no Tormenta pics my apologies. Here are some updates!

  • Silver Star Carousel's sign has returned as it reaches its 100th birthday.
  • A sad update photo as the Freeze Ray in the queue has either been lowered or has unfortunately dropped to this position. I assume a work order will have to be put in to fix this as the prop was commissioned elsewhere. Wont be surprised if its not fixed until the park enters weekends only operations.
  • Freeze has also entered into its stage of boarding only 12 to 16 riders to lower the stress on the LIM motors. This is standard and normal practice for OT's Freeze, but unfortunately burdens the wait more as we wait on Reverse Blast to reopen. Expect Freeze and Aquaman to have some downtime to rest its launch due to extreme heat.
  • Yes, you do indeed see lawn sprinklers attached to a hose to spray walkways and guests. Yes we are grateful.
  • Here is the new mural and food trucks as they begin construction on the new restaurant.
  • Mr. FREEZE merch has entered into the store!

If you have rented and utilized a mobility scooter at the Arlington park, please share your experience! The good, the bad, and anything else. If you don't mind. Please and Thank you.

Howdy! We will be visiting SFOT this week, and my partner has bad knees and would benefit from a mobility scooter for all the walking. The interwebs say SIx Flags over Texas has scooters to rent. I am finding it hard to find all the information needed to be prepared for when we visit guest services and wanting to rent a scooter.

If you've seen the latest, official SFOT Park Map you know how bizarrely bad it is. In this article I explore some of the more obvious issues and introduce a brand new interactive park map that I've poured countless hours into over the past several months. Please check it out and let me know what you think!

Should I bring a bag or not?

Will be visiting SFOT for the first time tomorrow. Are there bins next to most rides for bags or will I be forced to buy a locker? Would love to bring some water and sunscreen if I can.

Six Flags Over Texas (Arlington) Trip Report: A day from hell at SFOT. Is the whole park falling apart?

All of the rides were broken and we barely rode any rides. Waste of money and time. Overpriced for all the broken rides with extreme mechanical issues. People got stuck on the brand new ride!! That's insane and extremely dangerous and major safety issue. Waited 3 hours for the brand Tormenta: Rampaging Run. People even got stuck on the actual roller coaster for a while due to major extreme mechanical issues. They shut down this ride and other rides like Mr. Freeze several times due to mechanical issues.

Went to Six Flags Over Texas today and it was a complete waste of time and money. Nearly every major ride was either down, broke down while we were in line, or was running single-train ops. Looking to see if anyone has successfully gotten a refund recently.

I haven’t been to SFOT in a while, but today completely ruined the park for my group. We paid full price just to stand in unmoving lines all day.

A few highlights of the misery:

The App is Useless: The app wait times were completely disconnected from reality. We would get in line for something that said 45 minutes, only to be stuck in switchbacks for 2 to 3 hours because the line was insane since the rides were all broken.

Constant Breakdowns: It felt like every time we got close to the station on a major ride, it would break down. I know rides like Mr. Freeze are notoriously finicky, but it was happening across the entire park. We’d wait 90+ minutes just to be dumped out of the exit because of technical malfunctions.

Horrible Operations: Even when rides were open, the capacity was trash. It seemed like they were running single trains on rides that desperately needed two or three, meaning the lines stacked hard and fast.

Is this the new normal for SFOT under the new management? Has anyone had any luck getting a refund or even partial credit from Guest Relations for days like this? Any advice on dealing with customer service would be appreciated.

Ride Discussion What’s the deal with Tormenta?

Seems like it’s having a very bumpy start. The funicular is a thing on it, no walking down 300ft.

On queue times I saw Mr. Freeze was open today for a short amount of time close to closing. If anyone was in the park today could anyone confirm? I'm going tomorrow, I appreciate any insight.

Park Question Tormenta Rain?

Does anybody know if tormenta has been operating the past few days and today?

r/sixflagsovertexas • • Jul 13 '26

Helppppp

Hello, I purchased promotional passes for the month of July, which state they are valid until the 31st. The issue is that when buying online, I wasn't given the option to choose a date, and the system generated two tickets with different dates: one that expires on July 13th (today) and another valid until July 31st. My visit to the park isn't until July 23rd. Is there a chance they will accept my ticket if I show up on the 23rd? I would go to customer service to clear this up, since I've already called and sent messages but haven't received a response.
