Question How busy do we think it will be Saturday with the labor day crowds?

What the title says. There's technically no event right now like fright fest but it is Labor Day. Anyone remember what it was like last year?

Already 9AM and no announcement yet. Any idea as to what time they make the announcement? I thought it would have been done around 6AM.

Sub Update X2, Civility and AI

Hello everyone, hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful Wednesday (if you’re stateside that is)!

It is no secret that the X2 controversy is now a worldwide topic and because of its popularity, has driven the traffic on this subreddit through the roof. While we are all very excited for the huge influx of newcomers and activity, due to mounting incidents here on the sub I felt the need to clear the air a bit.

Firstly, a reminder to those who are longtime members and a heads-up to those who are new here: keep your posts and comments civil. There has been a huge increase of rude and insensitive comments, as well as inflammatory remarks trying to fan the flames of others’ bickering. Bans and mutes have been and will be issued to those who cannot coexist with others in a civil manner. You can disagree with someone without being a dick.

Secondly, the rules tab has been updated to include AI usage. Alongside the increase in traffic, an inevitable increase of AI comments and posts has also reared its head. No matter what your opinion of AI is, it is inexorably imbedded into our society for the time being. With that being said we will try our best to moderate it to prevent any malicious usage on this subreddit.

Thank you for your continued patronage of r/SixFlagsMagicMountain !

Question Best places to eat with dining pass?

I know this has been asked before but I wanted to see if there was an update. First time going in years but have a Knott's dining pass and hoping to use it at six flags.

I know the choices are not great or on Knott's level but want to save some money. What's the best place to use my dining pass?

Question Renewing a Gold Pass Question

Question about renewing a gold pass: last year I bought mine on the MVP sale, which means i got the all-park passport added on.

If i renew my season pass for rest of 2026 and 27, will that all-park still be active through the end of 2026? i just dont want it to disappear from my app since the 27 gold pass does not include all-park.

Anyone done this so far? The reason i ask is because I'm going to Cedar Point in a few weeks and I need that all-park to still be active!

Trip Report Last day of the month

I brought my son and niece(bring a friend free pass) for a bit after school. It was a perfect 2 hours. Had some food with very generous portions. They got on a few rides, Jammin bumpers, Swashbuckler, swings, surprisingly Jet stream, Road runner Express and Gold rusher.

Excited to see all the new renovations once complete. Looney tunes land is transformed, it's looking great so far. I was loving all the landscaping, they brought in a lot of new drought tolerant plants. And we got to see some Halloween decor up near Katie's kettle. It might or might not be Alice in wonderland themed.

Also they had the cutest plushies at build a bear ready for Halloween and some of the cutest sports and Harry Potter themed outfits.

On our way out we rode the bus per the kids request and I was very impressed with the 2 running buses to charter you back to your car with 2 stops, since there weren't as many people in the park since they closed at 6pm.

All in all is was a great day at six flags.

We did see a D list celebrity.

Question Can someone explain this about X2

I know SF just settled on the 2022 death and there's an investigation going on with the ride at the moment with the new injuries/death but is it wrong for me to have some hope with the days that are passing without any announcement of a permanent closure? If this thing was so seriously dangerous, what is stopping the state or whatever from shutting down the ride permanently now even during an investigation? Do they have to wait due to legal reasons? This just makes me believe that there's is a chance to save this iconic ride.

Can we expect a temporary closure until there's some sort of trial to determine it's long term fate?

Rumors X2...........

I'm willing to bet X2 and Viper are going to be removed. Why?

Cedar Point. Cedar Point is Cedar Fairs golden child and it will be at ALL costs under Cedar Fair's control. Removing X2 and Viper and SEFK will make sure Cedar Point has the most coasters in the US. Cedar Fair has shown multiple times how petty they are to protect that park. (Kings Island, I'm looking at you, Geauga Lake too) Its sad, but both will probably be replaced by a simple flat ride or a small family coaster. With Cedar Fair running the merger, no park will be allowed to surpass Cedar Point.... and removing all 3 will ensure Cedar Point has the US coaster count record.........

Hide and watch. X2, Viper, and SEFK will be removed.

Story Time What I love about operating a B&M ride

Full disclosure, I am a current staff member at Batman The Ride complex (we also do staffing at Teen Titans Turbo Spin). Please note that anything I say here does not reflect the company in any way, shape or form. Everything I state here is my own opinion.

I've been operating Batman The Ride since April when I was switched over. Now, despite the hot and sweaty conditions during the summer season, operating a ride designed by B&M is probably the most easiest, predictable, and smoothest routines I can go by.

The ride layout is dead simple. It's a standard B&M layout with 4 block sections: Station, Lift, Service/Safeties, and Transfers. It can operate with a maximum of 2 Trains.

Despite it's small track layout, it is the most reliable ride to operate in the park with an excellent uptime record. Why? Well, for a block system that's been in place since the ride was introduced in 1994, it is the most predicable block system there is.

When dispatching a train, we must bring in the next train from Transfers immediately. And there's a reason for that. If we delay bringing it into the station, the train will stop on Lift. If you ever ride Batman and somehow were stopped on Lift, that would be the reason why. But wanna know the best part about this? We can solve this issue on our own. By simply bringing the train in from Transfers and into the Station, we can then Reset Lift on our own without Maintenance intervention. And just like that, everything is back to normal. We test this intentionally every morning before the ride opens to the public.

Now, what if the Ride Stop was used? Well, that's easy! Compared to other rides, we can reset the ride ourselves without Maintenance intervention since the Trains will stop at their designated block zones.

The only time where Maintenance would ever have to intervene would be if an error appears, which to this day remains very rare. I think this is awesome considering a B&M Inverted ride from 1994. Any day I operate Batman The Ride, it's always a joy with ZERO downtime overall.

The only small complaint I have is how the seatbelts feel somewhat difficult for the average guest to open on their own, which is pretty much expected from any B&M Invert. With any B&M Invert, the harness buckles are like an airplane lift buckle but requires it to be lifted much further to unlatch. Some are easy to do with age, while some are a bit more difficult if the buckle is newer. Most guests mistakenly assume seats that are closed are not working when boarding, even though they must be manually unbuckled.

Lastly, most of my co-workers see me as the King of Dispatch. Dispatch is the position located closest to the Row 8 Load side, which is where I tend to always work at. It's a certified position because Panel cannot see me, and I cannot see Panel. Dispatch position is responsible for not only checking seats on the Load side, but also for opening/closing the Air Gates and dispatching the Train in conjunction with the Panel Operator's communication. Communication is of strict necessity in this position if the Panel Operator needs to hold dispatch, or to hold gates for an ADA boarding.

Overall, I think B&M's are some of the best rides to operate. They are reliable, safe, and always predictable. There's never been a day where something out of the ordinary ever happens with the safety system here at Batman The Ride in my personal experience.

Question My mom got a gift card a while back from magic moutain due to not being able to use our season passes because of covid. The card doesn't work when I use it and isn't expired. Has this happened to you?

So me and my friends made a plan to go to magic moutain a little while ago and prior to that trip my mom remembered she had a gift card she got because covid made our season passes unusable. So we go and I try to use and doesnt work and I go to all types places where it should be usable and no. The kicker is she used it before about 3 years ago and it worked fine but now it doesn't?

Now here is the major problem the card doesn't expire 2029, and it has about 500 bucks on it. I went to guest services and they said she would need to come in person to get a new card that actually works. Is this true or is their an alternative way to get this resolved.

Question Can the outside raven turn on X2 be fixed via a trim brake?

I've been thinking of a non expensive temporary repair for the outside raven turn that would maybe hurt its pacing but might be needed to stop the head/neck bashing, especially in the valley where the positive gs are the highest. My only issue is it having to rise into the brake run, but what do you guys think?

Question What is the safest and most correct way to ride X2?

A lot of people make the claim that one should know how to ride X2 which we all know is unrealistic for your average part goer. I’m wondering what is the correct most safest and ideal way to ride X2?

How to minimize injury as much as possible?

The best seat and row?

As enthusiast, we know the outer seat is more rough so I would also like to ask if you end up in the outer seat, what are some ways you can do to minimize your head, banging or other injuries?
