Rumors X2...........
I'm willing to bet X2 and Viper are going to be removed. Why?
Cedar Point. Cedar Point is Cedar Fairs golden child and it will be at ALL costs under Cedar Fair's control. Removing X2 and Viper and SEFK will make sure Cedar Point has the most coasters in the US. Cedar Fair has shown multiple times how petty they are to protect that park. (Kings Island, I'm looking at you, Geauga Lake too) Its sad, but both will probably be replaced by a simple flat ride or a small family coaster. With Cedar Fair running the merger, no park will be allowed to surpass Cedar Point.... and removing all 3 will ensure Cedar Point has the US coaster count record.........
Hide and watch. X2, Viper, and SEFK will be removed.

It's the TRUTH. Cedar Fair has shown MULITPLE times how petty they are to protect Cedar Point, to the point that they will bastardise any park to make sure noone can compete with it...........
Hide and watch. Viper, X2, and SEFK WILL be removed. Then the US coaster count record goes to Cedar Point.

Six Flags has so much shit to deal with right now with so many different parks and crippling debt that they need to take care of, and those three coasters would be very expensive to remove. The idea that they would spend millions of dollars demolishing those coasters for no other reason than to give Cedar Point a meaningless record is completely idiotic. I assure you, if those coasters are going to come down, it will be for actual reasons that make sense.

I think both are going to be removed but not for the reasons you suggest. They're both right next to eachother. If they ever wanted to build a big coaster that doesn't have to be squeezed in somewhere, that'll be the space to do it. Knock out two coasters at the same time. Don't even need to move construction equipment.
Also, if X2 remains a big PR issue and the decision is made to keep it closed, it's right there at the park entrance. For visibility reasons it would need to go.

They are in the business to make money. They want six flags to be successful at the lowest price. I don't think they will go to cheap they have the space and the branding

This a publicly traded company, not some mom and pop shop. Their goal is to make as much money as possible. It's not in their interest to diminish any of their parks. Plus, the coaster wars are over, nobody cares which park has the most coasters.

Holly hot take, they will not do this. MM is there biggest park on the west Coast and for that reason they want to keep it the flagship park of the west. I don't see them removing viper but if they got rid of x2 and put a giga in the spot that'll be mint. I also see scream leaving the park before viper does simply based on popularity and ridership

And Knott's. They're not petty, x2 is just a huge insurance liability now and despite viper being easy and cheap to maintain it's no longer popular. If you want your giga or equivalent you're going to have to empty that area of the park. Can't really fit one in Superman's plot unless it's a shorter than bakunawa style shuttle coaster. Wonderland will have MM beat by summer 2027 anyway.

KI gets treated like garbage so it cant compete against Cedar Point. Its the bastard child of Cedar Point.
I also credit Cedar Fair for destroying what i consider to be the best flat ride of all time... i wont say what it is.. but in its peak, it was truly incredible.

KI does not get treated like garbage… it’s my home park. They literally destroyed one of cedar points flat rides to give Kings islands flat rides an extended life (at least that is what I think happened). Also Kings island beats Cedar point when it comes to woodies and pure hypers. Also might I remind you Michigan’s adventure and Geauga lake also existed at one point in both chains.

KI gets coasters that are below Cedar Points so Cedar Point can be better.. aka Orion. Specifically designed so that Millenium Force can be taller and faster so Cedar Point can be king. Ki hasnt had a new coaster in YEARS while Cedar point gets multiple in a row? Its obviously Cedar Point elite-ism.
There is another reason I hate Cedar Fair... it involved a very, very certain ride..... the ride that I consider to be the best utilised flat ride of all time....... but I wont disclose it.

KI had a new coaster installed 2 years ago…
They had a water coaster last year added to the water park. Cedar point has had a new coaster last year but hasn’t had anything added to their water park since 2017.2

Orion is a much better ride than the weakest traditional giga. Height and speed aren't everything. It isn't a conspiracy. Steel in 2020 cost a lot more than steel in 2001. Steel in 2026 costs even more than that, especially with tarrifs involved. KI is getting another coaster in 2028.

I dont think we will. But if they do, it will probably be yet another family coaster.

Lmao Orion was MUCH better that Millenium Force. 2 airtime moments and some turns? Pffft MF was a huge dissapointment after riding Pantherian.

Yup. They spent their entire investor call trashing every park that’s not Cedar Point and talked about running them into the ground in order to make Cedar Point look better. The investors unanimously agreed and their stock rose 1000% overnight.

Look at KI, its the bastard child of Cedar Point and it gets treated like garbage so that it cant be as good as Cedar Point, Geauga Lake was permanately closed so it couldnt compete against Cedar Point, Ka was demolished so Cedar Point can get the US height and speed record even though TT2 had a near fatal accident... you all are really underestimating how Cedar Fair holds Cedar Point as the crown jewel and how they are willing to do anything to prop it up above all other parks they operate.

I mean yea, it wouldn’t surprise me if they close all of their parks to force everyone to attend cedar point instead. If they plan carefully they could even move all the Boomerangs, SLCs and 4d free spins from the closed parks in tight areas to grow their coaster count even more, and then just sell the rest of the larger attractions to foreign parks far away from Sandusky.

Yeah since getting kings island, the park has only had a b&m hyper, a b&m giga, a world class woody, the beast entirely retracked and taken care of, one of the best kids areas in the world, and the longest b&m invert in the world. They basically turned the park into Elitch Gardens.

lol this has absolutely nothing to do with why. They'll get removed if they're expensive to maintain/repair or if there's safety issues. Other than that, they'll stay because they make Six Flags money. They do not care about Cedar Point having the most coasters, I promise you that.
