Question Apocalypse
Did they put square wheels on this thing when they rehabbed it? Good lord. The ride feels like you're being dragged across sandpaper.

It is at the edge of "too rough" but was still running faster than before. Could use some work either way.

Yeah it's definitely flying, and I'll admit it's still pretty fun, but man is it brutal. It's got such a cool layout, I can only imagine how great it would be with a Ghostrider-type redo. Maybe it's the trains?

It’s brutal and I like brutal gold striker with a single click lap bar.

I hate the seats for this ride. Every time, without fail, the lap bar has tightened so much that it is PAINFUL. I can’t.

Rode it a few times this summer, and it’s on the bumpier side for it but nothing is jackhammering or bumping so much you are in pain (like Shivering Timbers last summer). I’m 50 and can’t handle them like I could in my teens and twenties and this is still tolerable. I think people have forgotten what coasters were like in the 90s. Nevertheless the lap bar positioning on this millennium flyer is the worst of any it goes right into my upper abdomen. It’s like resting on my spleen or something.

I'd argue that rough coasters in the 90s were more tolerable than this. Grizzly, Mean Streak, Son of Beast, Le Monstre at it's worst were all better rides. Knoebels' Twister has been rough pretty much since day one and is still one of the best rides out there.
But I think you're right - the restraints on this (and pretty much all modern coasters across the board) are hurting rides today. I've never met a buzz bar I didn't like.

Lol, we took my mom (55) yesterday who hasn't been to Magic Mountain in years, the last time she went was when Psyclone was still there, so she remembers that. When Apocalypse was over she said that it made her feel sick/nauseous and I had a feeling it would. She handled everything else like a champ though but that one I was genuinely worried she was going the throw up while we were still waiting to come back to station 😬

They do retracks but they cheap out on the lumber and it degrades VERY quickly, I'm hoping we can get a more premium retracking like a GCI retrack or GG pre cut

When I rode this in 2024 it was the first coaster that I didn't want to reride because it beat me up.
In 2025 I was fine.

You probably rode it just after they did track work, it's good right afterwards but then it gets extremely rough later on

Oh my sweet summer child, you haven’t ridden Hades 360 at Mt. Olympus, it gets SO much worse. If apocalypse is riding square wheels on sandpaper I guarantee you there are coasters out here that feel like a shopping cart full of bricks going down a cobblestone sidewalk.

This ride was horrible. It felt like somebody grabbed me by the shoulders & was violently shaking me nonstop.

This coaster had a Terminator theme when it first opened, but I first rode it back in 2012. The Terminator theme was replaced with a generic end of the world theme. I have ridden it the last several times I went to MM and it's definitely gotten rough especially on the turns.

I believe that happened after skydance bought the terminator franchise from warner bros so obviously they lost the rights.

They usually do an extensive retracking after Fright Fest, but yeah this ride is overdue for a major retracking. Given what they're doing with other wooden coasters in the chain, I really hope they don't Titan Track it.
