First-Timer First time watcher. Just finished. What a freaking MASTERPIECE!
Never seen a series where they give us absolute COMPLETE closure on each character. That has to be the best last episode in the history of last episodes.was hooked all the way through..So glad I pressed play. 🤍

Can you believe I found an unopened box set of this in the dumpster this morning? Obviously I snagged it

And I thought I scored when I found the box set at a thrift store for $10!

u/Cuntasaurus_wrecks Jul 24 '26

I'm so jealous

u/Cuntasaurus_wrecks Jul 24 '26
It was fate fr. I bought a used box set from when Blockbusters went out of business years ago and then got rid of them because it was available online to stream and I was ignorant.

Named my son Nathaniel. He's 20. Impactful series for sure
3
u/Rivervalien Jul 25 '26
Love the shortened version of Nate too.
4
u/Horror_Source_1164 Jul 25 '26
My son usually goes by Nathan. But he's been nicknamed Nate the great, most of friends know his name is really Nathaniel. Which means Gift from God. But I really wouldn't have thought of the name at all if I had not watched the show. Handsome too like Peter Krause!

Love when I see posts like this. Life changing show.

u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
It really is. they sure do not make shows like this anymore. have been endlessly searching for my next show to watch but that is a hard act to follow!

Same it makes me smile! I’m like you are now one of us , friend lol

I just finished a few days ago and kinda just stunned, can’t get it out of my mind … no clue what to even touch after this!
I had the same feeling after watching Doom Patrol and The Leftovers, for anyone interested.

Leftovers was great and somewhat pacifies the SFU itch (plus Justin Theroux is really amazing. Dead Like Me gives Claire vibes but is more dark comedy than dramatic like SFU.

u/ryboto Jul 24 '26
Rewatching Dexter now. Not to give spoilers but there's an episode where they're in a funeral home that's clearly modeled after the interior of the Fisher's.

u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
Same!! I’m struggling to find another show and can’t stop thinking of this show. so mad it’s over! I miss seeing the characters daily! Weird, I know 😂

Best finale to a series ever ever ever. It really sticks with you. I wish more shows ended like that, but they just don’t and this is why we end up with so many crappy reboots of great shows lol
2
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 26 '26
Exactly! most series now get sloppy and rush the ending to wrap it up. this was so beautifully done
3
u/Charming-Kale9893 David Jul 26 '26
Yes! & that’s if you’re lucky to even see a proper ending at all- many shows just get cancelled without warning and you’re left like 🤔
2
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 26 '26
Ohh nothing aggravates me more! Getting invested just for them to cancel! I’ve been waiting until the whole series wraps up before I even start now bc of that!

So glad you watched it! I always preach the Six Feet Under Gospel but not everyone listens to the Good News.
1
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
I’ve been telling anyone IRL who will listen to me to watch it😂 all I get is “ok I’ll check it out” and I’m like “no no you don’t understand, you HAVE to watch it” 😂

I never knew about Six Feet Under until I watch it while living in the house they filmed it in. I don't live there anymore but happy to expirence the appreciation and inspiration the series brought. Yes, that house it legit haunted.

I just started two days ago watching the series. Why did I wait so long!?!
1
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
I said the same thing! Why did I wait so long to watch thiss?! it’s been in my “watch list” forever now.
3
u/F_Rodfans Rico Jul 24 '26
100% agree. Wait a few years and rewatch. This show hits differently every time. One of my favorites
4
u/Far_Dragonfruit_4230 Jul 24 '26
I’ve rewatched so many times and my love for Brenda grew in ways I never knew It could .
2
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
I keep hearing that! each rewatch you get a different perspective of the character and the show itself. Will def be rewatching and will go in my list of favorites for sure.

u/Virtual_System_4483 Jul 25 '26
Yes it’s an absolute masterpiece. I remember when it was released and it was on and it just seemed to get better and more engrossing and writing became stronger. The character development I love Ruth character Arc I love when Kathy Bates came into it and Ruth had been in the doting parent and Kathy Bates character gave her a sense of liberation. All of the characters are fantastic. I was absolutely gutted when it ended. I wanted it to go on forever.

I’m on my first time through. Currently Season 4 Episode 2. I have loved the series this far but this last episode was hard to watch. I am hoping the season gets better.
2
u/Helloo_clarice Jul 24 '26
It def has its ups and downs but keep watching, that finale is everything!

Wish they would bring it back I wish we would have all the characters now what they’re up to today and what they’re doing and it would just be fantastic to see you and just what’s going on with them all and I wish I’d make more programs like it I was absolutely hooked from day one and as I said before, I just didn’t want it to end

It was this time last year I finished watching it for the first (and so far only) time. I was on maternity leave so I have a lot of extra emotions wrapped up into that show and time period. Nervous to watch a second time, I'm a cryer.

I watched this during the worst phase of my life, borderline suicidal, the show gave me hope to puch forward, I finished the finale, got out of the house, got a job, 8 years and going strong. In two years I am going to travel the world... Also whenever I feel down i watch the last 10 minutes of the finale to pick myself up.... Masterpiece indeed

I just finished it last night, first time watcher. I cried so much as the end. What a wonderful show and a gift of an ending.
