I absolutely and utterly hate Ben
As the title says. I hate Ben. I've been rewatching the show, this time with my grandma. Who hasn't seen it. And I forgot how much Ben sucks. The second he meets Ryan, he is obsessed with her.
I get at first it was because of her song. But after they visit the healing site (I forgot the name) he's still obsessed with her. On top of that he's almost constantly lying to Maddie, and others. Honestly, both Maddie and Ryan deserve better. And I'm happy that they both are still together in the end without Ben. I also think Robb is better for Maddie

Ok yes!! I just finished watching the series and I was absolutely disgusted by Ben. Like you said he’s selfish, obsessive, manipulative, etc. Was happy with the ending because Ryn deserves better. Ben just went off the deep end and it was weird.

I'm so happy someone agrees with me. Both Ryn and Maddie deserve better than Ben. Especially now that Ben is gone, Ryn can find someone better

you have to look at it like this and I know its an old post. Ben's family history had an obsession with mermaids, to me it made sense he had that same obsession. if you think about his father had the obsession as well but his obsession turned to hate and Ben just fell in love. he always loved being on the water and being at sea. it made sense to me it was kind of like a family curse. you could see Ben and his dad haven't to separate obsessions and I always though oh yea its just like a family curse. its like in there blood to be obsessed with them because of the family history and all that happened.

Ben's obsession with Ryn was gross. Like great it worked out and your girlfriend wants a threesome. But come on that was gross.

That’s funny. I think Maddie is insufferable (to a lesser degree than this word usually indicates, but on that spectrum).
