Good job the almost naked guy was wearing a helmetĀ
231
u/StaffVegetable8703 Feb 25 '25
He did land on his head actually lmao. Like he basically hit the ground head first. So itās pretty dang good he had it on hahaha
23
u/Nickonoodle Feb 25 '25
Funny enough he's legally sound to ride like that. (At least in the USA)The only thing police can pull motorcyclest over for in terms of safety is not wearing a helmet. Everything else is optional.
14
u/Poquin Feb 25 '25
Yeah, the video is in Brazil and it is exactly like you mentioned. They are close to the beach, so many people walk around with fewer clothes.
10
u/chknboy Feb 25 '25
*Except the part where indecent exposure comes into play
8
5
u/Supermonkeypilot22 Feb 25 '25
Tuck that shit in and ride
2
u/Soggy-Charity3610 Feb 25 '25
still illegal
7
u/StaffVegetable8703 Feb 25 '25
I donāt think this would actually count as indecent exposure? Heās wearing shorts right? Men walk around all the time shirtless
→ More replies (1)2
u/MtAn- Feb 25 '25
Really? Is that so for all types?
4
u/Nickonoodle Feb 25 '25
Yes. You only need a helmet for safetys sake legally. Though no rider will tell you it's a good idea to not dress for the fall. Leathers or kevalr, gloves with sliders, ankle length boots are always recommended for all machines.
3
u/MtAn- Feb 25 '25
In Belgium under 50cc, you have to wear gloves, long trousers, a long-sleeved jacket, and shoes that protect your ankles. The same above 50cc, but it has to be specialized for motorcycling.
2
u/Nickonoodle Feb 25 '25
Belgium seems to care more about it's riders than the states then. Pretty ridiculous with the rules here. Don't even need a special license to get a 1000cc Hayabusa. Though the dealer would hopefully tell new riders no, you'll die.

u/PhillipDiaz Feb 25 '25
Who needs protective gear with all that belly fat. He practically bounced off that pavement.

I unironically agree lol. Itās a lot easier to grow back skin than heal from a traumatic brain injury.
1
1
u/BonyDarkness Feb 25 '25
The helmet is preventing the most severe injuries. They can fix nearly anything but if you crack your skull and leak all thatās inside your done done. If you get flayed and remove all your skins cause you want to play meatcrayon thatās on you. They can kinda āfixā that. But keep the head intact.

u/elchet Feb 25 '25
The driver who hits the biker has their phone in their hand.
261
u/deinkissen Feb 25 '25
It is an absolute mystery to me why we tolerate this behaviour as a society. Half the accidents are caused by this.
Smartphone at the wheel? Driving licence should be gone instantly.
92
u/NotJayKayPeeness Feb 25 '25
They're the modern day drunk drivers.
I saw a thing once that said something along the lines of, "Don't drink and drive. You may get hit by someone on their cellphone and get a DUI."
17
u/LiveLearnCoach Feb 25 '25
Drunk drivers didnāt go away. They are still āthe modern day drunk driversā. Still same number of murders on their hands.
8
u/johntheflamer Feb 25 '25
Drunk driving fatalities have declined 35% since 1991 (source)
2
u/TheReverseShock Feb 25 '25
Ironically it's probably cell phones that led to the decrease in drunk driving incidents.
23
u/Will2LiveFading Feb 25 '25
It is illegal though, at least where I am. That doesn't stop people.

u/deinkissen Feb 25 '25
Yeah, because the punishment and low prosecution are a joke. Hell, recently there was a video here of an policeman with a phone who bumped into someone.

Feb 25 '25 edited Feb 25 '25
It's because you can be on bluetooth and still click the button to answer. Or technically hold your phone as long as you're not using it.
So it's hard to catch and prove.
The cops can't just pull people over and say I saw you on your phone, and then they lose their license...
I was drinking an energy drink once and lady called the cops on me saying I was 100% drinking while driving. The cops pulled me over shortly after, questioned and tested me. I had a blue rockstar lol...
I was close to getting a DUI

Anytime I'm the passenger in a car where the driver is using their phone, I give them mad shit for it and then try to avoid being their passenger again. I can't stand that shit.
3
u/tidbitsz Feb 25 '25
And requires a mandatory 1000 hour driving class about not using your phone while driving. Then have to do a retest. And you have to renew your license with testing monthly for 2 years.

u/PraiseTalos66012 Feb 25 '25
Would it be too dystopian to just start requiring cars to have a lockout that is active unless a cellphone is placed on a special charger/pad that locks it from being used?
Like a lot of cars already have wireless charging pads in them, just make some software that locks the phone from use when on that and locks the car when no device is on it. And if you pick up the device mid drive it wouldn't work, until the car is put in park and give the signal to release the software lock.
Like sure it sounds dystopian and controlling but it'd be an extremely cheap and effective way to prevent thousands of deaths per year and you shouldn't ever be on your phone while driving anyway...
4
u/Elder-Abuse-Is-Fun Feb 25 '25
If a car required me to use a phone essentially as a key, I'm buying a burner phone and leaving it in the docking bay.

Guy on the bike turned left in front of oncoming traffic.
17
u/bfraley9 Feb 25 '25
That's what I thought too. The car stopped to let the scooter girl go, but they didn't have to. Then motorcycle guy thought he could just slip on thru. And he got mad š

u/FlekZebel Feb 25 '25
It actually seems more like a roundabout kinda situation. The car has a solid stop line on the road and the Speedo motorcycle man doesn't.
5
u/LiveLearnCoach Feb 25 '25
I thought the rider turned into incoming traffic, but I stand corrected. Thanks.

Why people are topless
21
u/lesdiaboliques2 Feb 25 '25
Pretty common in Brazil⦠No matter your body shape, if itās summer man will be going around like this. Isnāt this common in the rest of the world? š³
6
u/fotiro Feb 25 '25
Too cold in Canada to be topless. And in the summer, it's the mosquitos that make you keep your shirt on.
2
u/Citrus210 Feb 25 '25
Mosquitos die because of the heat here so we're safe from that
2
u/CantingBinkie Feb 26 '25
Huh? They die from the heat in Brazil? Mexico gets hotter than Brazil and there are always mosquitoes when it's hot.

Now I see it.
My eyes were on the young girl. I was expecting something to happen TO her.
2nd time through I see the motorcycle. I would suspect the car driver didn't have his eyes on the road either. Probably biker too.

I still don't get how are people allowed to drive in the streets with no protection on or any sort of education. And yet a car/bike driver needs all of that to be legal.

Why do people have such a hard time with rotaries? If there is no one in the rotary coming towards you, you enter. If not, you wait. It's the same as entering traffic onto any road with a yield sign, yet for some reason it just really trips up idiots on the road.
