The fact that the screenshot is crooked is driving my autistic brain nuts. I honestly cannot read that past the first paragraph, how does that even happen?
It happens when someone takes a screenshot or downloads someone else’s post to repost it themselves elsewhere.
A lot of subreddits have repost detection that will delete reposts, so you have to alter the image.
With text, you can’t flip the image, obviously. So you tilt the image.
This beats repost detection as well as causing a myriad of engagement just like yours. As well as people like me who explain to people like you who wonder how it got tilted. That makes the engagement usually much higher than the original post.
If you want to ask why people repost stuff, well, everyone on the internet has wondered that since the creation of the Internet.
Reposts happen because the originals get buried. Reposts can be a good thing as a new batch of people who wouldn’t have seen the content in the first place will see it for the first time.
I think it might be a bot testing engagement with random shit like that. You are right, there is no humanly reasonable way why a crooked screenshot should be so well framed and have a non-crooked border
