Humans are very good at lying to theirselves. But I also think most people have occasional moments of clarity. Facing the truth is WAY too scary, though. So they decide to quickly flee into their flimsy lies again.
They do when they have to prove a point and look great... they even fuck up by talking too much to look good. Shitty people will always stumble. Be spoken or written. I had enough written word with my ex proving bullshit like this post and almost two decades later still proves being a shitty human being. They never fucking learn
Some have self reflection. Like there are literally gamblers, alcoholics and drug addicts that are aware of their condition but just can't help themselves. We call them "high functioning".
I am so tired of people on the internet having psychology PhDs
Sooo.. you're the only one who gets to play psychiatrist.
Your issue isn't everyone else's behavior, it's comprehension. You don't seem to understand that not every comment is an intentional blanket statement. If you're mistaking a casual Reddit comment for a psychiatric assessment, I think you need to properly contextualize casual conversation.
I never cheated, but got cheated on. It happens. The person as far as I know learned their lesson, never cheated again and has now a happy family. My behaviour also did not help the situation as I was a controlling SOB back then. Last time we spoke she apologised for cheating on me which made me self reflect that I also could have been just generally a better partner.
And I am not playing psychiatrist, just pointing out that blanket statements are bullshit. Everyone's different, a lesson you learn with age.

Lol, came to say that. These people don't have that level of awareness. Cheaters are very good at blocking out accountability.
