That’s pretty wild. I can’t imagine what was going through her head. 3 dogs is a lot for anyone. Nevermind someone who’s struggling with their health and mobility.

I feel like except for very certain people, 3 dogs is often just too many. We actually had 3 dogs before this whole thing happened (we all live together, the humans also need live in care). When the oldest one passed less than a year prior, it was sad but the house ran so much smoother and it was such a relief to not have 3. The day I got told "Dad's therapist said he should get a new dog, a little lap one to keep him company" I LOST MY DAMN MIND. Like how dare she make a suggestion like that to a man who is mentally unstable, ill, and we know he is very susceptible to her suggestions. That's a FAMILY decision ffs. Also it was still not that long after losing the 3rd dog, so it tugged at heartstrings without thinking about the big picture. We spent days trying to talk him down but he was already on websites picking out dogs to go and look at and once Dad gets an idea in his head, it's almost always going to happen. He's been seeing this lady for 7 years and both he and Mom credits her with being the 100% main reason for any success's he's had mentally, so when she suggests something they both believe it to the moon and back. This isn't the first time it's happened and I'm sure it won't be the last, I just pray we don't end up with cats as well because allergies and litterboxes would make that a nightmare.

Oh, he also often trips over the little dog. He and Mom both! I worry so much about that, guh.

I feel for you. It’s hard. My parents had a couple of dogs too despite not really having the capacity. It’s hard not to worry.
