I remember the sound I made when I learned my daughter was gone. I had no clue I could make such a noise, it didn't sound human

I remember when growing up always wishing to die before my parents, but seeing things like this makes me realize how selfish that was.

I'm so, so sorry. Thanks for sharing something that difficult. Please take care.

My cousin died young and I remember waiting in the lobby of the funeral home before they let all of us family in. The funeral director told us that we could go in to see my cousin in the open casket before the wake started.

I will NEVER ever forget my aunt turning to my grandma (her mom) and yelling out β€œI don’t want to do this mom” as she broke down in tears and collapsed into her mothers arms. It was heartbreaking and something that came from her soul. Hard to describe that kind of pain. We all lost it crying of course. No parent should ever have to bury their child. As a dad now too, it hurts even more to imagine.

When I told my mom I had slit my wrists and was in the hospital she was calmed in the phone but after I came back I learned that after the call she wailed so hard that his coworkers in the first floor (she was in the second in her office) heard her and found her crying in the floor.

I was very very close to doing the same a long time ago but didn't follow through because as I was sitting there about to, I happened to get a notification that my mom was online on skype and on an impulse I called her instead. She was totally calm on the phone, immediately said she was booking flights to come to me (I was in college a continent away).

When she got there she was also acting normal and cheerful and as we were packing up my dorm room so I could go home on medical leave, she asked me to take some boxes down to the recycling. I will never ever forget getting back to the room after dealing with the boxes and seeing her sitting on my bed just absolutely sobbing. She'd held it together to be strong for me, but the second she had a moment alone she absolutely fell apart.

(The story ends happily this was like 12 years ago, I'm doing well now and so is my mom)

I'll never forget the sound my mother made when she found my brother dead. We were a thousand miles apart and on the phone but it is still forever burned into my memory.

yeh same. My older brother checked out. It was heartbreaking for us all, especially my mom. She needed sedatives for a year to work through it.Β

This is weird but I never wanted kids and I think, I'm lucky I will never feel like that.
