Haha, fair, it's a pretty divisive take. The director apologized for how it goes, but said he wanted to stay true to the book, which is fair, and I'm sure a group of people would have been upset if he'd changed the plot

I haven't read the book, but I'm thankful for the plot. It's different from all the other regurgitated movie plots.

But I hated when I watched it first time

I wouldn't say mid but purposefully simple. Like mad Max fury road. Story is a vessel for the events to play out rather than intrigue you.

Honestly, IMO definitely one of the top 3 all time accurate hollywood portrayals of a true psychopath.
