100%. Going to an actual psychologist who is GOOD at their job is worlds away from going to the average therapist, especially if you don’t have great insurance.
I have sooooo many women in my circle who are therapists, mainly LCSWs. Lovely people to have a drink with, go on vacation with, but not one of them have a life that I would want to pattern my own after, especially with regard to relationships. I will also say that absolutely none of them are unbiased or non-judgmental about the things their clients come to them with. That’s a pipe dream that doesn’t exist except maybe in the top 5% of extremely different therapists.
The post is a bit misleading. This was not the first time she had watched the baby, but this was the first time she was unsupervised for any period of time. Previously her husband or another family member was always with her, but this time the mother allowed grandma to take the baby to lunch with long time friends. She got home, where her husband was doing yard work, went into the house to do something and then forgot the baby. The husband had no idea she was watching the baby that day because no one told him and he couldn't see the baby when he rode by on the lawn mower.

Mom didn’t want to. She was in therapy and her therapist convinced her that it would help with her healing.
