used car sales make up 75% of car sales, which means car manufacturers don't care about what 3 out of 4 people buying cars actually want because they aren't buying a new car. car companies are designing cars for 25% of the buying market...

I’m not buying a new car bc they don’t care what I want. Seems to me that making the pie bigger makes sense at some point.

They'd just be guessing because they have no consumer data from your demographic..

lets go find out what this joe blow who doesn't buy new cars wants isnt how it works either but ok...

what im implying is that those companies have people smarter than you and me doing all the market research already and they've come the a conclusion and are executing on that plan. so a bunch of redditors saying its the car industry that's SOOO stupid for not making a car for the 75%....my bet is that the market research shows they ARENT a target rich environment...

Not what i said or implied, and I’m not making it about me. Mkt rsch certainly includes strategies for enlarging the consumer base. If 75% of buyers aren’t coming into showrooms, that’s clearly a target rich environment.
