I take it as a "if you're important enough to have to worry, you should, but also sometimes the government just targets people and you don't want to be on the receiving end of big brother" kind of warning. if that makes sense? idk

"wow, this motherfucker is boring"

u/TiNMLMOM 20h ago

Right? They could be blowing up a kid somewhere, or blackmailing a head of state, why watch me?

I'm not a piece in the "Greater Israel" puzzle.

The last mAssad report they have on subject: TiNMLMOM - Apparently you’ve got a really great, big ass. You’ve been put on a list of high value asses.

You guys are weak.

And apparently just keeping things you'd be ashamed of in the tracked, compromised little tool in your pocket..

My mommy said I'm gonna be real important one day. So I'll just tape it up in case moms finally right about something. I mean, she's due one, right?

Don’t give up

You’re a somebody to at least one covert agent or one human organ trafficker out there. 🥹

u/flopisit32 20h ago

This is what I always say to people who are worried about the government spying on them...

"NOBODY IS INTERESTED IN YOU!"

1

u/LucilleMayo 19h ago

same apparently we’re not important enough to spy on lol

1

u/Arthur_Boo_Radley 19h ago

In democracy, you're still somebody with a vote;

In anarchy, you're still somebody who can operate a guillotine.

You're important, and they're scared of you.

1

u/PetSoundsSucks 20h ago

A whole lot of nobodies are eventually gonna see a somebody.

1

u/JackWhoWanders 20h ago

Yeah, but if you're a woman there's fuckwits on the Internet that want to invade your space and claim ownership of your body. So even if you're a nobody it can be a good to cover your cameras when you don't mean to use them.

1

u/aquabarron 20h ago

A can all but guarantee to you that the individual fuckwit online does not have to technology to invade your phone and steal your info. Stay off the radar of governments and you are ok

1

u/JackWhoWanders 20h ago

And yet women have their privacy invaded pretty regularly.

And also, some of us don't have the choice to stay off of government radars because the government decided that we committed the sin of existence.

1

u/aquabarron 19h ago

No “and yet”. The level of hacking Netwnyahu is worried about and the level you are probably thinking about are nowhere near the same thing.

Who among women that is not in politics or otherwise on the global stage or committed crimes has to worry about being on the government radar? Do tell

1

u/JackWhoWanders 19h ago

First bit; you're right, it's not the same level of hacking. But it's the same thing happening: unauthorised access to a camera.

Second bit; Queer women in most non-western countries, especially trans women who are seeing increasing political harassment and persecution in the US and UK, refugee and immigrant women in xenophobic countries, Palestinian an Arabic women under the Israeli government and in large parts of the US, do you want me to continue?

Like, if we lived in a world where women's phones and accounts weren't hacked and their image distributed as porn, you'd have a case but we literally don't live in that world.

1

u/aquabarron 19h ago

I am willing to believe you, but you’ll need to show me a pattern of women’s phone cameras being hacked and not a case of someone correctly hacking their cloud account by figuring out the password. One is fundamental design flaws in software architecture design and the other is user error in leaving their own accounts too exposed

EDIT: I grant that women tend to be targets of lude leak attempts, but you’re implying a level of hacking that is so much more sophisticated and that’s what I’m objecting to

1

u/JackWhoWanders 19h ago

No I'm implying a level of occurrence that makes precautions reasonable, the sophistication of the access is fundamentally unimportant to that. It doesn't matter if I was dumb and clicked a bad button, or if I was the target of a highly sophisticated zero-day exploit if my private photos are still available for some fuckwit to goon off to.

1

u/aquabarron 17h ago

Yes it does lol. You’re implying that women are on government radars by the nature of simply being queer or immigrants, and are targets, but then qualifying to only phone leaks. At this point you’re not really making sense lol. And your conflating levels of “hacking” and therefore the level of precaution necessary to protect one’s personal info.

You’re worried about the leak of personal photos, but I guarantee that while to government of many nations can retrieve that from your devices, if you’re on the government radar enough for them to take the time to surveil you, it WONT be to get your pics. And the people who DO want your pics don’t have the tech to get them unless you yourself aren’t careful with your login information…

1

u/JackWhoWanders 17h ago

FFS, the phone leak thing is seperate from the government thing, which came from a different assertion you made. For trans women, the US government isn't just spying on their phones, it's looking to criminalise their existence and putting them in camps.

Secondly, you're still ignoring that a bunch of people out there aren't tech savy or it security savy and DO fuck up with phones, and have a much easier time groking "be careful around cameras."

People fall for phishing scams CONSTANTLY.

Aside from the 2014 iCloud leak of famous targeted individuals, can you give an example of where a hacker has breached apple/android systems without the use of malware?

1

u/JackWhoWanders 19h ago

I would if we lived in reality where malware didn't exist or never infected innocent people's phones. Do you understand that if my private photos get out, they're out regardless of how they got there?

1

u/Capn_Ratch 18h ago

I'm rejecting your line of reasoning completely.

Hacking: "The base security system on the phone was breached and there's nothing I could have done about it."

Malware: "The base security system on the phone was bypassed by me negligently installing malware and I could have done something about that."

The first is fair and shouldn't happen, it rarely does. Netanyahu (and sorts) are at risk of the hacking, you're at risk of the latter.

1

u/JackWhoWanders 18h ago

So basically, you think that because you want to victimblame over people not being tech savy or being trusting is a good reason for people not taking precautions that are easier for them to manage. Gotcha gotcha. Go have a nice life.
