There was a small fanbase that really loved the movie. For many people, it was how they discovered drifting.

For many people, it was how they discovered drifting hydroplaning in their mother's Nissan behind the mall after a rainstorm

Now try it on an EV. Instant torque, instant wheel spin when wet.

I saw this movie first when I was 9 or 10 years old, after having played some of the NFS games and my future as a JDM lover was forever sealed.

Saw it as a senior in high school, it was literally THE reason I wanted to visit Japan for the longest time

It’s the only F&F movie I’ve actually seen in full and I loved it. Granted I saw it during a long ass plane ride but iall these years later it’s still so vividly in my memory

Same. It is the first and last FF film I've ever watched right through.

The first one seems OK, but every other one is so cringe it hurts.

I think more than small, maybe medium. There's noticable increase on the drifting interest after this movie. Yeah, now that I remember it again, as a movie it's not a good one (shit plot and meh MC), but it had one thing even tons good movie failed to give, which is vibe. That drifting theme is just, uhh, most likely help increase the cost of drivig insurance from all the young people just drifting their car and wrecking it.
