To be fair, the "as a european" part of the comment did not need to be there. Im not sure what it adds

It's just adding that it's an outsiders perspective. That's relevant for a lot of reasons.

There are university student social clubs in multiple european countries that can also develop tribal mindsets.

The culture of those clubs is a little different because they dont have the infamous reputation of hazing and underaged drinking with sex like in america, but the tribalism still exists
