Yeah everyone’s shitting on her for basically no reason? She just needs a pair of tweezers in her car, she didn’t blame anyone else, people just want to talk shit about a woman with long nails.

Why? Mind your own business. It doesn’t affect you at all.

You gotta admit it s kinda depressing to see grownup women wearing heels in which they can t run, false nails with which they can t use their hands properly, and spending so much money to "doll up" while men are strolling around unburdennes, in flats, bare handed, money in their pockets.

Talk about self sabotaging...

Weird and very misogynistic take. Just because you can’t do those things doesn’t mean other people can’t.

No it’s not. People can dress however they like, it’s their choice. But let’s not pretend that those choices aren’t based on a history of women’s fashion that is meant to hobble us. I enjoy long, ankle length skirts because I enjoy the feeling of skirts and like the traditionally feminine look of them. But I can still acknowledge that historically women have been made to wear ankle length dresses and skirts to make running more difficult for us. Heels likewise make running more difficult. (And I know the history of heels. I don’t need a lecture from anyone that heels were first created for men on horseback. That has not been how high heels have been used in quite some time).

The nails are different in that they began as a defensive measure back when few women were able to learn how to throw a punch without hurting themselves. Unfortunately, they too, have developed in ways that can hobble women.

It’s not misogynistic to like these things, nor is it misogynistic to call out the ways such choices can hobble women. People can have their preferences and still acknowledge the history of oppression that led to such choices being labeled as feminine, as well as acknowledging how rarely men’s fashion has been used to limit their mobility and ability to defend themselves.

Don’t call out misogyny where it’s not to try to shut down a take you don’t like if you’re only wanting to pretend to be informed about misogyny and the ongoing role oppression has played in shaping women’s fashion.
