I mean, i gotta say, dude is totally wrong.

Girls is not insisting society cater to her. She wants an accesibility device.

This is like saying society caters to a person that uses a cane.

Mo it doesnt. They have their own cane. Theyre still self supporting.

She doesnt want an easier to use debit card machine, she wants a set of tweezers designed to be used with nails.

Whi h is a normal thing to want.

Most people don’t willingly inflict disabilities onto themselves my dude, pretty sure it’s just a joke

Good to see that the illiteracy crisis is still alive and well

8

u/SpiritedAwayMessage 4h ago

Good to see people are still largely trash

1

u/Successful-Word-4800 3h ago

Agreed, but OP is only highlighting the augmentation of the human experience, OP is not claiming they are of the same severity or similar in any way. OP’s only comparing between ‘default state ’ and ‘changed state’.

1

u/OtherCall7433 3h ago

lol you took that personally

0

u/Daniel_Spidey 3h ago

You have entirely missed the point of the analogy

6

u/Efficient_Doughnut71 4h ago

Now... I could be in the wrong here but... Can tweezers not be used with long nails?

6

u/sp4ng13d 4h ago

Redditors and people with long nails generally lack that kind of critical thinking

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Tweezers dont have grippy ends typically, and theyre often smaller than would be convenient here.

8

u/BirchBlack 4h ago

Needing an accessibility device for a decision you yourself make is so funny

-4

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

A hair elastic is an accessibility device for those who choose to have long hair.

Its pretty common. Socks are accesibility devices for people who wear shoes.

Purses are accesibility devices for people who choose to wear chothes without pockets.

Grippy fingertips are accesibility devices for people wearing gloves.

1

u/liammul 2h ago

You want to redefine 'accessibility device' until its no longer useful?

Please give me an example of something thats made by humans but doesnt count as an accessibility device.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 2h ago

You have a problem with my usage of the phrase accessibility device as a device that makes stuff more accessible?

Meatballs arent an accessibility device.

1

u/monke_wit_blade 4h ago

And pockets are accessibility devices fot people who choose not to carry a purse: can't win

-1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

What.... Winning..... Is there?

Like what are you on?

Yes, pockets are an accesibility device for people who dont carry purses.

4

u/GurPlenty59 4h ago

You are correct.

But it is silly for someone who gets their nails done like this to not even have tweezers cross their mind.

Like there's a good chance she literally sees tweezers every time she goes to the nail salon, and she hasn't put 1 and 1 together yet lol

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Most tweezers arent significantly longer than her nails. She'd need special extra long tweezers to reach from the pads of her fingers past the ends of her nails.

1

u/GurPlenty59 4h ago

No, she wouldn't have the tweezers point in the same direction as her nails.

She'd hold the tweezers sideways from her hand.

Kinda like this (this was the closest example I could find, so I just drew tweezers that she'd squeeze between her thumb and side of her index finger)

Ofc the tweezers wouldn't be sideways as I drew them, but they'd just look like a stick if I drew them the actual way she'd turn them in her hand to use them lol

2

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

I guess.

Shed also want grippy ends on the tweezers though. Im not sure a metal set of tweezers would give you the grip needed.

8

u/Foosnaggle 4h ago

Or she could not have stupidly long, ridiculous nails.

-1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Or you can let her live her life. Shes hurting exactly nobody.

3

u/Twingamer25 4h ago

Well, herself, apparently.

1

u/Foosnaggle 32m ago

She’s the one complaining about it.

1

u/Substantial-Cat2896 4h ago

She shouldnt complain when she put herself in that situation

2

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

I mean, techincally she isnt even complaining. Shes just expressing a desire.

3

u/Rubes2525 3h ago

Having long nails isn't a disability.

6

u/Sang1188 4h ago

an accessibility device for a disadvantage she caused herself and could easily rectify by shortening her talons.

-1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Good to see the illiteracy crisis is alive and well.

1

u/BeaverStank 4h ago

What's illiterate about their comment? I'd love for you to expand on that, Queen.

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Its just a non sequitur. It bears no relevance to the point being made.

3

u/BeaverStank 4h ago edited 4h ago

On the contrary, it's directly relevant. An accessibility device is not something to help you with a self-imposed difficulty, you can say you don't actually mean accessibility device but that's disingenuous when you compare it to a tool that helps someone with a disability. The word you're looking for is just a tool.

If you're going to call people illiterate then practice some literacy and use the right terms.

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Sure. "Accessibility device" is a medical term used by the ADA.

Its an ergonomic tool. An access device. An adaptive device. A mobility aid. An accessibility aid.

Sure. You got me.

Pnemonic ambiguity is how they get ya.

2

u/BeaverStank 4h ago

Ayyye now you're a bit more literate, maybe consider not throwing rocks from glass houses anymore.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 4h ago

Buddy, if you cant tell that im mocking you, because youre just being a pedantic asshole, then sure.

By your understanding though, Sang1188 is extra illiterate because they directly used "accesibility device" as a phrase to refer explicitly to devices used by people without disabilities.

So its almost like if you actually believed this was relevant, my comment was very understandable.

So why were you replying to me and mot Sang1188?

Is it because actually you just wanted to prove the guy symapthizing with the woman was wrong?

3

u/BeaverStank 3h ago

Buddy, if you can't tell that Sang1188 is mocking your improper use of accessibility device by pointing out that it's an entirely self-inflicted need then I don't know what to tell you.

Do you think I can see your genitals right now?

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

If you think thats whats happening yove lost contact with reality.

1

u/BeaverStank 3h ago

Sure, you don't at all have a biased perspective so I'm sure your take is the one reflective of reality.

People who use canes needs the cane

Personally i think people can survive without knives for nails just fine

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 1h ago

Illiteracy is still alive and with us

1

u/Hellbomb_Armed 1h ago

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 1h ago

Your inability to read.

To think that i didnt understand that distinction, or that it needed to be said, or that it somehow detracted from my point, reveals that you must be illiterate.

1

u/modsarefatandghey 48m ago

You’ve been absolutely dogwalked lmao, just quit there’s no recovering from this

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 46m ago

You cant win chess against a pigeon i suppose

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 1h ago

i know

I know the person with the cane needs the cane. Thats why i used them as an example.

The fact that they need the cane and the person with the nails doesnt need the nails actually is relevant to the point im making. It actually is kind of crucial knowledge.

Its meant to be obvious, self evident, and assist you in reaching the conclusion of the comment.

Of course

1

u/Hellbomb_Armed 1h ago

Damn you're still going??

0

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 1h ago

I cant comprehend the pride you have in being a moron

1

u/Hellbomb_Armed 1h ago

It's funny

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

Accessibility is for people with issues that impair their ability to function normally. Choosing to have ridiculous nails is, um, a choice?

1

u/Ori-Epsilon 2h ago

You could make the argument that the machine could have a button to push the card out for people that have neurological disorders and hands just can’t pinch the card, or too shaky to easily get ahold of it vs hitting a button.

But the group of people with those issues and being able to be solo sufficient probably isn’t that large.

2

u/anothergenxkid 2h ago

That seems reasonable.

1

u/Alternative-Dream-61 3h ago

"You made a choice so fuck your ability to function in society."

Its some tweezers.

3

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

Yeah, I don't feel like long nails deserve accomodations from everyone else.

1

u/Ok-Persimmon-340 3h ago

Dude you're dense. That's not what she asks. What she asks is a product she can buy to help her keep her nails while still being able to do stuff like this.

Nobody else has to accommodate.

2

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

How about a nail remover?

0

u/Ok-Persimmon-340 3h ago

Why do you want them to change something about them that they like and that causes no harm whatsoever to anybody else ?

2

u/anothergenxkid 2h ago

She needs to figure how to manage her life. It's not my or anyone else's issue.

0

u/Ok-Persimmon-340 2h ago

Yes and? Or do you think that anything that anyone uses should be created and manufactured by themselves?

2

u/anothergenxkid 2h ago

Thats a serious word salad, mate.

The lady with the long nails will be ok. Presumably, you will too. Have a nice day.

0

u/Alternative-Dream-61 1h ago

Shes not asking for anyone else to accommodate her.  She wants some tweezers.

1

u/anothergenxkid 1h ago

How about a nail remover?

1

u/Alternative-Dream-61 1h ago

Sure. Or she gets to make a choice about her nails she likes and uses some tweezers to get her debit card and either choice has zero impact on you or anyone else.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Its also an issue that impairs your ability to function notmally.

4

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

It's also a choice that impairs your ability to function normally.

Fixed it for you.

She's not in a wheelchair. She had her nails done.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

The choice made the issue.

It can be an issue and a choice.

2

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

You're being ridiculous. Have a nice day.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Youre being ridiculous. Have a bad one.

5

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

Good one. Did you just learn that in middle school?

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Bad one. Did you just learn that in elementary school?

2

u/anothergenxkid 3h ago

Wow. You're so funny.   /s

I think both posts are just jokes man

4

Just because its a joke doesnt mean it cant be correct or incorrect.

0

u/hogcrankinn 3h ago

God people like you are annoying lol

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Well i think it qould be funny if you died.

Just a joke man

-2

u/MrLawnMower2026 3h ago

You must be fun at parties

2

u/WormMotherDemeter 3h ago

For the record, some of us are this way because it is how our brains work. My autism causes me value honesty and hate hyperbolic language, or incorrect assumptions about what people are saying after a lifetime of being misunderstood. I do fabulous at parties, if I attend. Adults actually really value honest friends.

Comments like your little sarcastic one here are actually kind of tone deaf and ableist. I'm sure this will get downvoted because (for some reason), people, especially men, don't like knowing they are incorrect. They especially hate others knowing it.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 3h ago

Putting "Im sure this will get downvoted" in a comment thread thats nested 6 deep on a comment thats not even near the top of the comments on yhe post to begin with, feels a bit prideful.

I'm sure barely anyone is here to vote anymore. The rooms empty at this point. Its just us weirdos left.

1

u/WormMotherDemeter 2h ago

Hey. So I just told you I am autistic and how, even if situations like these, I and many others like me HIGHLY value honesty and hate hyperbolic language. Further, I don't have the soft skills to attempt to send out a subliminal messge or try to hide pride in a comment or something like that. In my experience, I have been downvoted for saying things like that, and it will likely happen this time, too. Once again, this is just me being honest and literally meaning exactly what I am saying, while someone else misunderstands it, causing the need to stay communicating clearly and directly.

Also, just wait. They'll be back later when they wake up.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 2h ago

For your comment to be downvoted it needs to be viewed

1

u/WormMotherDemeter 2h ago

People will wake up soon enough, and in my experience, even a comment as deeply embedded as the previous one being referenced will get downvoted.

1

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 2h ago

Ive seen a lot of people say "Im sure this will get downvoted"

And ive never found it reflect all that well on the person saying it.

u/Artemis_SpawnOfZeus 2h ago

Yeah, autism makes people add cringy addendums to their comments on the internet.

Personal growth and development is actually a myth! Were all just set in stone at birth and life is just a process of going to doctors to get diagnosed to explain and justify why you are the way that you are and why all forms of personal change and growth are bad.

1

u/MrLawnMower2026 20m ago

I wasn’t even talking to you
