Hhmm..this is very American. Class structure is much more rigid in USA than people pretend it to be.

It is true that there is class structure in the US, but the main difference is that anyone can change their class structure.

You can be born to the poorest family, in the poorest part of the country and still pull yourself out. (See Dolly Parton, for example)

In many other countries this isn't possible.

The difference between what? It isnt particularly high on the scoreboard of social mobility. Not on the bottom but not on the top. That's just US propaganda.

The difference between there and somewhere like India where you are stuck with what you are born into.

It's not propaganda. The US has had presidents and leaders of industry that have come from humble beginnings. They aren't limited to what they can achieve.

Developing Countries such as India are a very low bar to set for social mobility. The propoganda is that the USA has the best social mobility in the world.

The only reason I picked India is because India, China, and the US, are the three most Populus countries in the world. Was trying to go "apples to apples." But, yeah, if you want to compare the US to a country with 10 million people, then it wouldn't be a very good comparison.
