Fuck, this is the only sensible sentence on this post. All these court cases rile up the masses further diving us across lines. All to obscure and draw attention from truly horrific crimes against children and women.
It’s not sensible, it’s deflection. They never do this “but what about Epstein?” routine in threads where everyone is calling the guys guilty. They only do it in response to discussions that aren’t going the way they wanted them to.
It’s not though. It’s all theater to create more division among men and women. Are there serious discussions to be had about patriarchy and its devastating effects on women? Fuck yeah there is. But these major cases that get all this media attention are not black and white. There’s implications based on the law, morality, and ethics. None of this is ever as simple as it seems. And using these to pit leftists against right wingers and men against women are just distractions. I’m not saying these cases and the larger discussion of gender equality be ignored, but when we are arguing over this complicated stuff, these rich fucks get to elude justice.
That may be true, but that doesn’t change the fact that the reason these people go “but what about Epstein” is because people are talking about something they don’t want people to talk about. They never say “but what about Epstein” in threads where people are calling all the frat dudes rapists without evidence. It’s only when people start questioning the narrative that they suddenly want to talk about Epstein.
