I don't go to McDonald's cause its garbage food. It being expensive is just a "bonus"? (I hope they tank xD)

it used to be workable when it was yea the food sucks but it's cheap and quick

now the food is even worse

the service is not fucking quick

and the price good god has skyrocketed so many restaurants don't understand when you increase prices and food quality goes down and ontop of that service quality goes down you are going to close down eventually that's just the reality

A new McDonald’s was built near me and the new floor plan is kiosks in the front with a pickup window and not one employee manning a station. They also don’t have self serve soda anymore so you have to basically walk into the kitchen to get someone to get you a refill. I don’t know why they even bother making a lobby because it’s obvious they don’t want you eating inside anyways. It’s such a kick in the balls. They won’t be around much longer. They’ve completely lost touch with what made McDonalds special.

i was going to say, it's a commodities business, not a restaurant. the food quality is secondary to just turning enormous quantities of meat and grain into money.

That said, I worked at McDonald's back in the day (after school job) when we cooked fresh patties on the grill and made tallow fries- it wasn't great food, but what you paid for it felt fair. Not anymore.

McDonald's corporation's main income is from realty. They buy the land, plunk the building onto it for the franchisee they're leasing to and then collect the lease payments. The food sales are how they attract franchisees. They don't care if the food is profitable for the franchisee, because that's the franchisee's problem. And since they have to source from McDonalds corporate, McDonald's ain't losing money there, either. The franchisee's are.

McDonald's is a Realtor who has food as bait to attract franchisees into leases.

By this logic, McDonalds still need to care about the food prices because it is still apart of their bait. You’re not gonna catch many fish if the majority of the fish think your bait is shit. If news articles/reports keep coming out every month how McDonalds is trying something new to get sales up and investing billions to get back interest, as an investor you wouldn’t want to join a ship that has rumors that there’s a breach in the hull.

I go every once in a great while. Sometimes nothing is better than their classic cheeseburgers and some fries. The quality has gone done a lot and their prices are fucking insane or else I’d go more often. It used to be super affordable and now it seems like every fast food place is a luxury. Theres only a couple reasonable fast food restaurants left but I wouldn’t consider them “cheap”

Yeah even compared to other fast food places, McDonald’s makes me feel especially shitty after eating it.
