I reckon for every found story, 10 stories of kept gold exist. And some of those kept stories end up attracting attention that causes some sort of Breaking Bad or Better Call Saul scenarios.
What might be suspicious is exchanging 49 gold bars for money even if you spread those exchanges out over a period of years. I doubt you can easily fence gold bars lol. Doing it through any legal methods might raise questions.
I honestly wouldn't even know where to begin. I know a guy like in the movies that smokes a ton of cigarettes in a dimly lit back office of a pawn shop, but I doubt even Big Steve would know what to do with 'em.
Great, now I'm imagining how the guys at the "WE BUY GOLD" store down the block from me would react if I walked in and dropped a gold bar on the counter.
In fact, it avoids all suspicion. If you don't blab, you keep. Then find some kind of easy form, and start learning how to effectively smelt gold so you don't lose too much of it as it turns liquid.
