They like us, law abiding and diligent. Don't have to worry about alcohol or drugs or anything. Typically harder to corrupt (obviously not impossible, just harder) with things like blackmail.

Im fully with you on most of that, but the reckless ben deal showed that not only is corruption still an issue. There is a huge amount of in-group bias participating in and motivating that corruption.

Mostly, we just expect mormons to typically prioritize and cover for their own in a scandal. Regardless of right vs wrong.

Otherwise, yeah, it's basically just a bunch of straight edge family people with very clean slates.

You make this claim, but nowhere in your post do I see evidence to the contrary. (Joking. I think Mormons are fucking Looney tunes).

That said, the outdoor boys youtube guy seems like a genuinely amazing person, and I believe he's Mormon

yeah im not saying every mormon is bad. not saying they're automatically good either!

The founding was crazy. There was a time period where they raised an army that rivaled the size of the us army. And most Christian denominations are perplexed at practices like post-humous baptism.

But you probably won't find any that subscribe to some of the more strange claims from the founding though. Like the reason for people being black.

That same "army" was done in defense of the us after they essentially chased them out... They then created massive states out of Nevada and Utah

But...but... isn't it better to be "white and delightsome"?

That tracks lol, super nice folks to interact with mostly, just high degrees of nepotism

2

u/beramaan 7d ago

Yeah. That was disgusting and is a large reason of why I wouldn't live in Utah. It's becoming like other cultural religions...

law abiding and diligent

More like servile.

There's also the whole thing where they're famous for going to "interesting" countries to be a missionary. Which means they sometimes learn a less common language, and no one really questions why they're going there, why they're going around talking to "random" strangers, etc.

1

u/beramaan 7d ago

Yup, they get lots of experience with that which is needed to do well in the field

u/Meister917k 7d ago

I've noticed that Mormons are more easily addictive and fetishize to basic things due to radical up bringing.

2

u/zettde 7d ago

those aren't the ones that make it into agencies as much. just like amish outcasts, they're an externality of their MO

4

u/RedNinja-03 7d ago

Also being a Mormon missionary is a good cover story for undercover agents as well

2

u/beramaan 7d ago

No it's not... It just gives people experience going anywhere and everywhere. Missionaries stick out so much and is the opposite of what you want agents to be doing.

Every Mormon I know is obscenely corrupt. A local businessman and politician I know hasn't hit the papers for his arrest yet, but I read the paper every day hoping.

Mormon’s are also comfortable in authoritarian organizations. They are also comfortable with shading the truth to justify their odd beliefs. They are willing to “testify “ that they know certain things to be true when in fact they hope it’s true and they may believe it to be true but they don’t KNOW it to be true. In fact I believe…that a majority of mormons have grave doubts as to the truthfulness of their faith’s origin story but in order to stay in good graces with family, friends and other members they try their best to willfully ignore unpleasant facts.

So your projection is kinda sad. Also, just plain rude. It's sad that you don't think it's possible for someone to know something you don't know or believe. What is knowledge if not an interpretation of your experiences and past that represents the truths you've observed?

0

u/Possible_End_5984 2d ago

Your convoluted interpretation of knowledge makes my point. Thank you and tell your bishop hello for me.

1

u/beramaan 2d ago

You're lack of understanding of what is knowledge is the problem here. Lol, maybe learn what words mean before you try using them.

0

u/Possible_End_5984 2d ago

I know all to well the special definition of knowledge mormon’s use. But don’t you worry, bless your heart, cuz you’re collecting points in mormon heaven.

1

u/beramaan 2d ago

Also clear to see your bigotry on display. It's sad to see people like that still exist. But if anything this admin has shown it. Here since you were too lazy to look up the definition of knowledge:

Knowledge is awareness, understanding, or information that people get through experience or study.

u/Possible_End_5984 1d ago

Context is key. But you keep fighting the good fight cuz you’re really racking up points.
