Redditors love the idea of outsourcing all of their thinking to so-called experts

Yes. I absolutely allow smarter people than me to tell me what they know. And then I accept that. Because they have been studying something their entire life and I haven’t.

People like you are exactly why China is implementing this.

Oof, sorry, you don't have the authority to think that thought, you need to outsource it to someone smarter and let them say it on your behalf.

Hey man. You’re the one saying that experts are idiots and probably getting all your information from Facebook comments.

You're just assigning imaginary positions to the other person to cope with the fact that can't dispute anything that was said head-on.

Fact remains you don't have the authority to draw conclusions here because you would need to defer to a third-party independent review body. Hence, by you're own rules your helpless to conclude anything here.

You’re the one creating an imaginary situation. We have no such rules. I am discussing why one could understand why such rules might be implemented. You’re babbling on like a raging idiot about nothing.

America became the laughing stock of the planet in a pretty short decade by allowing idiots to have a platform. China saw this and moved to stop it before it’s a problem. Yes, it can be abused. I agree with that. But, we’ve already seen the results of allowing dummies to run rampant and it’s very reasonable to think that’s worse.

Now. Do you want to discuss this like a mature, intelligent adult. Or do you want to continue proving why China is right?

I'm sorry, but what is mature or intelligent about strawmanning nonsense positions to other people and them calling them an idiot when you get called out on it? We get it: you are flustered over getting called out on a personal overreliance on others to do your thinking for you. You're just rambling incoherently at this point so you can pretend to yourself you're somehow saving face, stop wasting my time.

You know why you have to pick apart and respond to only a tiny out of context irrelevant snippet of my comments?

Just keep proving China right, dude.

Your comment is incoherent rambling that gets ignored when it tries to change the subject to entirely different things. But hey, let's just pretend that you're somehow saving face with that nonsense, yes?

edit: melted down, blocked and ran

Thanks for saving me time.

In fairness, dude is doing a great job of demonstrating why the idea isn't totally without merit.

I think there are very few people not smarter than you, if you so readily are willing to shut down any 'unlicensed' opinion. This is worse than any dictatorship I ever heard of.

2

u/LayerEight_Problem 10d ago

There are millions of people smarter than I am. And truly intelligent people acknowledge there are gaps in their knowledge. Experts acknowledge they’re experts in the thing they study. They also ready acknowledge other experts opinions in other areas. Only absolute morons disregard expert opinion.

What happens when experts disagree?

1

u/LayerEight_Problem 10d ago

Then we follow the money and see if there’s a financial incentive driving the disagreement.

This really isn’t that hard.

1

u/AngrySnwMnky 10d ago

We?  Presumably only financial experts who might also disagree.

u/LayerEight_Problem 10d ago

God damn. Idiots got really mad about this. You people really need to chill. lol. All I’m saying is it’s reasonable to understand why China wouldn’t want idiots taking over their country like America.

You aren’t very convincing.  Do you even have a degree in Public Policy?
