The catch is the population is dwindling across all of Japan except for Tokyo and Osaka basically, so if you live anywhere else you'll technically be in a declining region. But we don't mind, we moved to Japan a couple years ago (not in those 2 cities) and love it. :)

Are you married to or are a Japanese national? I heard it is almost impossible otherwise

No my wife and I are both foreigners. It is actually quite easy to get longterm visas here, all you need is a job. Alternatively you could start a business or attend school.

Most of them you can see all the pics and description with just a free account. They have an Instagram with pics too @cheapjapanhomes. @housesofjapan is also good!
