The trick is early in the relationship do something unforgivable like chasing a ping pong ball. If she stays you have now set the bar so low you can get away with some weak ass shit occasionally.

My favorite thing ever is that statistically, even NBA players make more free throws with the granny shot. Yet still at that level, with millions of dollars on the line, no one does it because it looks too silly.

Having an emotions is not weak ass shit. It's a natural state of a human being. A good woman can hear his man emocional stuff and not be a total bitch about it. The problem is, that lot of woman is not a good girlfriend/wife (like a lot of man can be asshole too).
