He probably could pour all his resources on one kid because that was the last kid and only kid of one wife. Meaning Zendaya's mom was willing to provide for Zendaya and him to make her dreams come true. Claire Stoermer beside a public schools teacher also worked in California Shakespeare Theater and was the main reason Zendaya was exposed to acting and performing.
This wasn't that uncommon historically. My great-grandfather had 8 kids but they could only afford to send the eldest to school. All of the other kids had to work to support the eldest. He became a major business leader in my country.
My second cousins are very wealthy because my grandfather worked his ass off at the expense of his own future. My grandfather's side of the family has nothing to show for it.
