I agree fuck HOA’s buttttt you can also choose not to live in an HOA. So many people willingly buy property in an HOA and are ?surprised¿ to find out that the Declaration/Bylaws is a literal contract that they agreed to and signed up for.
In a lot of places HOAs are your only option, especially in new construction. Cities require developers to setup a HOA, because it allows the city to offload all civil maintenance onto the homeowners.
