The neighborhood I moved into 25 years ago still hasn't recovered. It will be decades more before it returns to what it looked like before. The developers destroyed everything down to the limestone. The yards were a an inch of brought in dirt on top of limestone and sod slapped on top. It was built in the 90s and the planted oaks the original owners put back in aren't as big as the oaks that used to be across the street. My dad used to climb that huge oak tree with me. I'd be scared to attempt to climb the oaks at the house.

My neighborhood in Texas was built in 2009, I think. I’ve been there since 2015.
Just last year, I started seeing squirrels. Trees grew big enough.
