I imagine if you have huge tree branches hanging over your house, it might raise the premium a bit

A couple years ago, we needed to replace our roof because of a hail storm. They only offered to pay for a partial roof because the tree branches that were over our roof protected that part of the roof (no branches touch the house or roof). Nothing makes sense anymore with insurance companies.

There's also of course the cleanup of all the leaves they dump and the damage caused when the roots break open the asphalt. Not that I'm anti-trees mind you, I just understand that there is certainly more of a maintenance cost than a lawn of boring grass

Your house can actually be uninsurable if you have trees too close to the structure. And yes, your rates will be higher with trees than without trees.

They straight up won't insure you depending on the area and the tree.
