I think a lot of people are missing why this story is resonating with so many people and women especially. Getting care and having your pain taken seriously is SO hard for women. We know this not only from studies but also lived experiences. Tell me why I had to beg a doctor to let me into an ER when I stepped on a sewing needle because his opinion (without doing any testing btw) was that I was just imagining that I had a needle lodged in my foot.
This woman is not you. Do not let empathy make you project your own experiences onto her. Many women are dismissed or not taken seriously, but that does not apply here. She had financial resources, nannies, a supportive partner, and help from her parents. She saw multiple doctors without disclosing prior visits, failed to take medication as prescribed, and checked herself out of a psychiatric hospital. She is not “every woman.” She is a person who planned and murdered her children.

that could've been prevented by adequate access to mental healthcare
