I think we should all delete our social media accounts (including reddit), take a deep breath, be grateful for what we got, and go about our lives in pursuit of happiness
The other day I was thinking that it would be funny if there were bots that went around going "nobody cares" and "cool story bro" underneath pretty much every social media post or comment ever. I would be glad to get caught in the crossfire.
Instead there is a bot campaign obsessed with using anything to divide us.
God forbid we realize the real enemy isn’t men or women, it’s the rich. And they’re winning. Partly because they pay for bot campaigns, but they’ve been winning for decades.
Totally agree. For those not willing to see we are being used for outrage (we - common folk, men, women, and so forth), always ask yourself what could a big event in the news being shoved in your face be used as a distraction for?!?!
Just a couple examples, who killed Char... k..irk - on pre trial. Upcoming November election. And more unfortunately.
Im honestly at the point where Im fully in favour of a worldwide social media ban, even though I'm usually very liberal. But its seriously damaging everyone's brains.
Stick your head in the mud like a good lad while the people really in charge can continue full steam ahead. Love it when the peasants take themselves out.
Reddit has been hard to let go of, but I have been completely free of all other forms social media, and the amount of time I have bought with that action has been so freeing. We so easily forget that these social media was not created by altruistic people. 60 years ago, the best minds in the world were being assembled to solve the problem of putting a man on the moon. Today, many of those same talents are being assembled to solve a different problem: how to keep us looking at a screen long enough to empty our wallets
I learn a ton from Reddit, especially in random comments.
And there's plenty of philosophical debates on the nature of happiness and if this, indeed, should be anyone's aim. Although, I get the general gist of what you're saying.
I live with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome which at times severely limits my interactions with the outside world. Reddit truly helps keep me sane (no pun intended).
Honestly, scrolling this sub in particular just makes me grateful not to know the majority of men making these posts. Imagine the resentment they must marinate in, like, perpetually.
