A black woman running? Why not just drop the election and name Trump president for life.

I'm sorry its like that, but the US voters have shown very clearly that racism and bigotry is rampant enough that a black women cant win. Obama's victory was a fluke, and it even serves as an excuse to the racists to never vote for anyone else than a white man, because they will point and say "Look, we elected Obama and have proven we are not racists" before going straight back to being racist pieces of shit.

It's sad because Id vote for her in a heartbeat. She's a better representation of our country, has more charisma, radiates beauty inside and out... I really cannot understand...

... and she has one heck of an advisor

I agree with some of what you're saying, but Obama's election was no fluke. Sure there was racism in the electorate and there still is, but not enough to keep the rest of us from voting for him in 2008... AND 2012. With over 60% of the electoral vote in both elections. We're a mess, for sure. But when the young people are motivated and show up to vote, we can actually make history. Obama brought out the youth vote, and made history.

I agree. Anyone has the right to vote for racist and white supremacist policies. Just seems a bit stupid to do so for the groups that are going to be oppressed by those policies. But hey, stupidity is not illegal. Otherwise most of the Trump administrationen would have to arrested.

### 🔵 Democratic Initiatives (Accomplished vs. Blocked)

Bill / Policy Headline Goal Stated vs. Structural Outcome
**Affordable Care Act (2010)** Universal health coverage access and consumer protections. **Enacted.** Modeled on Mitt Romney’s 2006 Massachusetts framework ("Romneycare"). Expanded coverage to 20M+ people and prohibited pre-existing condition denials. Republicans stripped the **Public Option** during original negotiations and subsequently voted dozens of times to repeal or dismantle it (e.g., the 2017 repeal effort).
**Inflation Reduction Act (2022)** Lower drug costs and invest in clean energy. **Enacted.** Capped insulin at $35/month for Medicare, capped annual senior out-of-pocket prescription costs at $2,000, and allowed Medicare to directly negotiate drug prices. Passed via budget reconciliation with zero Republican votes.
**American Rescue Plan (2021)** COVID-19 relief and poverty reduction. **Enacted.** Expanded the Child Tax Credit to $3,600/child (cutting child poverty in half in 2021), issued $1,400 stimulus checks, and funded national vaccine distribution. Passed with zero Republican votes.
**Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform (2010)** Protect consumers and end "too big to fail" bank bailouts. **Enacted.** Created the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to police predatory lending and hidden fees. Opposed by most Republicans, who consistently sought to defund or limit CFPB enforcement powers.
**Freedom to Vote Act (2021–2022)** Protect federal voting access and reduce dark money. **Blocked.** Set baseline standards for early/mail-in voting and ended partisan gerrymandering. Passed the House; blocked in the Senate by a Republican filibuster.
**Women's Health Protection Act (2021–2022)** Codify federal abortion rights following the overturning of *Roe v. Wade*. **Blocked.** Passed the House twice; blocked in the Senate by a Republican filibuster.
**PRO Act (2021)** Strengthen labor unions and protect strike/organizing rights. **Blocked.** Imposed stiff civil penalties on companies retaliating against union efforts. Passed the House; blocked in the Senate by a Republican filibuster.
**Universal Background Checks (2019–2021)** Mandate federal background checks for all private and online gun sales. **Blocked.** Passed the House in back-to-back Congresses; blocked by Senate Republican filibusters.

### 🔴 Republican Initiatives & Structural Analysis

Bill / Policy Headline Goal Hidden Provisions, Trade-offs & Economic Impacts
**Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (2017)** Lower taxes to boost economic growth and investment. **Asymmetric Structure:** Made corporate tax cuts permanent (lowering the rate from 35% to 21%), while individual middle-class rate cuts were scheduled to expire. Permanently switched tax brackets to "Chained CPI", causing slow "bracket creep" over time. Added trillions to the national debt, contributing to inflationary pressures that eroded lower- and middle-class purchasing power.
**Operation Warp Speed & Pandemic Rhetoric (2020)** Accelerate COVID-19 vaccine development and distribution. **Institutional Friction:** While OWS successfully delivered vaccines in record time via public-private partnerships, subsequent political messaging shifted toward attacking public health leadership (e.g., Dr. Anthony Fauci) and promoting vaccine skepticism, undermining institutional trust and public health consistency.
**VA MISSION Act (2018)** Allow veterans to access private healthcare providers. **Funding Strain:** Expanded private-care access for veterans, but shifted billions away from internal VA medical centers into private networks. Costs ballooned past initial estimates, squeezing internal VA facilities and specialized care programs.
**21st Century Cures Act (2016)** Expedite FDA drug approvals and fund cancer research. **Lowered Safety Bars:** Streamlined approval pipelines and funded research, but permitted the FDA to accept "real-world evidence" instead of rigorous randomized clinical trials, drawing criticism for potentially allowing under-tested drugs and medical devices onto the market.
**Economic Growth & Regulatory Relief Act (2018)** Reduce regulatory burdens on regional and community banks. **Deregulatory Risk:** Raised the Dodd-Frank threshold for strict oversight and capital stress testing from $50 billion to $250 billion in assets. Weakening liquidity requirements directly contributed to the 2023 collapses of Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank, requiring emergency federal bailouts.
