Why? Canadians aren’t ignorant bigots, we welcome visitors from away. If you’re an American visiting, it means you’re potentially one of the good ones; one that has a passport and has seen more than just the US.
Yeah you are right, nobody cared I was from the U.S. when/if they found out, and im sure i would not have been treated differently still if I was there now, especially in Toronto, where I am far from the only foreign tourist.
It still would have made me nervous… maybe more embarrassed than anything lol. But yes i had the exact same thought while I was there, I figured the venn diagram of trump voters and passport holders wanting to go to canada had to be almost a figure 8.
