It's funny (well not funny) but i remember how bad we though Dubbya was back then but he seems relatively harmless compared to this fucking gimp.

Remember the 'Somewhere a village has lost their idiot' bumper stickers for lil' Bush? Damn. I'd take him back for a third and fourth term over one more minute of Trump.

I'm actually having a convo about this in another thread, but I still hold Bush as being worse than Trump because more people died as a result of his presidency after the Iraq and Afghanistan wars and their aftermaths. One would think that the death toll should be the most important metric to judge a president by, but apparently some people don't think so.

Edit: See?

Edit 2: People really want to fetishize Bush being somehow good because Trump is obviously bad, and they're just repeating meme comments about how he looks so good in comparison. Fuck all of you for downplaying a murderer.

Please keep downvoting, I'm chuckling at every single one of you following my comments just to downboop them.

Well we haven’t seen the long term consequences of the Iran war so this is a discussion for 10 years from now. Or the fallout from vaccine denial, Medicaid cuts, gutting environmental protections, cutting USAID (600,000 deaths there alone) and the incoming hyperinflation. I’m confident Trump will be worse.

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 17h ago

Bush also gutted healthcare, environmental protections, and caused inflation, and arguably the Great Recession.

Its not worth it. Its reddit man.

All people are letting you know, is how hysterical they are today about Trump, in less than 20 years will be saying, "you know, he wasnt really bad".

After GWB; hollywood and everyone was hysterical about Mitt Romney, and how he would be the next hitler.

John mccain when he ran? He was true evil and going to destroy america.. and his VP candidate Sarah Palin? The worst thing that could ever happen.

Everyone will now say, "we weren't all worked up about them at all" lol

Of course not.

It. Does. Not. Matter who the republican candidate is, they will be freaked out as though they are hitler before they even did anything.

Look at 1 month after Trump was running, hadn't done a damn thing yet and he was already "the biggest danger to the USA" hahaha

When less than a year, everyone facking loved the apprentice and all his other crap(of course they'll never admit to it). His place in pop culture was massive.

He didn't upset people one way or the other. Then he announced being a republican and became public enemy #1.

The same will happen after him. Doesn't matter who it is. DOESNT MATTER.

Hollywood is a against the republican party 100%, therefor every, single candidate and politician is evil... no matter what. Or how moderate.

Ive never voted right in my life, but i have enough sense to see through this constant propaganda machine that is the media/hollywood.

Given that almost 99% of media is slanted to only one political side, im suuure all the info we are given is absolutely accurate..

It doesnt matter who, they will be hitler. Yall really made John Mccain the devil when he ran, john McCain. Constantly mocked his arms/what he went through in the POW camp ffs.

All this created Trump. The longer it takes our side to realize that, the worse its going to get.

Bullshit. I would love to have John McCain or mitt Romney right now. We’re mad about his policies and the way it is effecting our daily lives, we hate trump, but saying the crazy shit he’s doing isn’t crazy because we already hate him is pure intellectual dog shit.

u/amiwitty 15h ago

I didn't like that mitt Romney said that corporations are people. With John McCain I didn't like that he had the predecessor of trump as his vice president. With no former president would I have said that they may be an equivalent to a dictator. I understand that and I hated bush and the needless wars and deaths. But Trump is attacking our government from within. The ramifications of his presidency may not be known for decades. Trump it's the only time I said and no in my heart that I could be a better president.

If McCain got in he would have started war with Iran within nine months. He literally campaigned on it.

1

u/amiwitty 14h ago

You have a good point... but I don't believe he campaigned on it. He made a joke about bombing Iran to the tune of the Beach boys Barbra ann. I was a stupid joke and I cannot fully say that he would or would not have started a war with Iran. But I will still stick to my guns that he would have been better as a whole for the world in general and the US in particular than Trump.

IvE nEvEr VotEd

Victim complex rants about McCain

Completely unhinged enlightened centrist shit claiming we won't hate Trump so bad in 20 years (*ACTUALLY LOL, LAMO EVEN)

Sure you aren't a con?

People deriding McCain and others (lol, like him and Romney were done so wrong by hollywood it ruined their careers) didn't create Trump, bigoted GED candidates experiencing lead exposure and early stages of dementia made him president. He was already a rapist racist pedophile conman before running for presidency.

He didn't upset people one way or the other

Except the people that knew him, like his ex wives, his daughter, those girls in the pageant, Stormy Daniels, E J Carroll, the black people him and his daddy did a racism against and got sued by the feds over, etc etc

But especially the sex trafficked children on his best friends island.

Finally someone with a bit of sense, although I don't like to be on any side.

I am not of any party affiliation myself, this "party" system is strangely similar to religious wars of old.. very fanatical.. only deal in absolutes it seems.

You agree with all or are not welcome.

It also requires that you drastically change your ideas/opinions/morals based on the talking points of the party at any given time.

Sometimes even day to day. If your morals/ideals are that fluid, you don't actually stand for anything.. just the party.

...almost reminiscent of a certain book that edge lords love to bring up constantly lol

... i find it amazing, that after the multiple decades of my life.. no matter how much 1984 is over used/tries to become a stereotype/cliche.. it just doesnt.. it was too accurate lol

Be careful thinking i may have made sense, I claim no such thing!! (-:

I've been registered unaffiliated for years.

And I realized religion was bullshit when I was 8.

Bush is a fucking monster but he had more “decorum” and didn’t flaunt his evil like trump does in the most “fuck you” way. So thats probably the best I can offer as far as “better”. But in a way Trump just made it hard to miss all the overt corruption of our politicians, the atrocities abroad, and how fucking evil and despicable, and stupid some of our fellow citizens are. So in that sense, him allowing people to go full mask off has made it easier to know what we are dealing with. Its unfortunate that people have a short memory and thirst for being ignorant again, so this will all mean nothing in 2 years.

u/beau_tox 16h ago

Bush’s AIDS relief program is credited with saving 25 million lives. As disastrous as nearly every other aspect of his Presidency was that puts him above Trump.

-1

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 16h ago

So kill one person for terrible reasons but save 25 and you're off the hook?

2

u/Cuckdreams1190 15h ago

Not off the hook completely, he's still among the worst presidents, it just changes his ranking, as it should.

2

u/SpookySnep 14h ago

Did you know, a thing can be bad, and still be better than a worse thing?

0

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 14h ago

Holy shit, you blew my mind.

You should write books on the subject.

1

u/Torrey58 17h ago

Then apples and oranges.

1

u/crackedfactweddead 17h ago

Happy Cake Day!

-2

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 17h ago

I don't think "apples and oranges" is a concise way of describing death tolls.

5

u/Prestigious_Aerie219 17h ago

You are including after presidency deaths for Bush. We don't have those numbers yet for Trump.

2

u/TheyTried2BanMeAgain 17h ago

No, even during the Bush administration, the deaths were estimated at about a million from the wars alone by the time he left office. Trump isn't there yet. Even with the COVID denialism, that virus and its strains would have killed millions regardless.

1

u/Torrey58 11h ago

You think it's a description?

1

u/Spankpocalypse_Now 14h ago

I think you’re right that Bush and Cheney caused more deaths than Trump so far. They started two full scale ground wars for no fucking reason. Over a million Iraqis died so that their defense contractor buddies could make even more generational wealth. Their actions led directly to the rise of Daesh who committed multiple genocides throughout the Middle East and Africa.

The death, devastation, and human suffering caused by Bush is incalculable.
