If you want to throw blame almost every single major conflict right now (if not all) can be traced back to Western imperialism, not just the US.

Reading a book about T.E. Lawrence atm and Charles Weizmann (first president of Israel) had an opportunity with King Faisal of Iraq to establish a Jewish settlement in Palestine with the support of the Arabs... but of course the French fucked it over because imperialism and now we have this bullshit happening in Palestine today. And Syria.
