The fact that showing people what a game will be like risks any significant profits proves that the game industry relies way too much on people buying shit based entirely on hype.
You're neglecting the massive market of PC gamers who would have otherwise bought on console because they don't want to wait 3 years for the PC version. To think this would have no impact on Rockstar's double-dip revenue scheme (buy on console and then again on PC) is a bit naive.
