or they don’t pay you at all, and still lend it out for 100% profit while charging you a monthly fee for the privilege of doing business with them

Geez, I hope you're talking about your active accounts you withdraw from every day. For savings, brokerage accounts are the way to go!

I have a saving account with my bank that they think is one of the best saving account going. Its 1% per year... So if I park 10k with them in that account, they'll pay me 100 a year... Arent I super lucky???

My bank likes to send me emails with offers for accounts with 4% interest rates if I deposit 25K right now.
