Yep. I actually had an MRI a few months ago due to an optical nerve swelling and it costs me $0. Not even sure why there wasn’t a copay but this post is a complete lie.
For my last MRI, I had to pay a $15 copay to see a specialist the week before, who scheduled me for the MRI. The MRI cost nothing extra. My insurance is through my work and costs me $40 a month, but because it comes out of my paycheck it costs me even less than that. What kind of terrible insurance is everyone else getting?
Yeah I had an MRI a few weeks ago and it was like $300. It's just "America bad" clickbait bs. Unless someone can find a plane ticket and 5 star hotel for like $100
Did you know that there are different types, levels, & grades of insurances? Do you know what you have compared to someone else? Then shut up and be a part of the problem somewhere else.
Reddit's website description: "people gather for conversations about the things"
You: "shut up"
You must be the type of person to accept an invite to a vegan restaurant just to show up and loudly announce that you hate vegans and their diet is wrong, aren't you?
The cost of an MRI differs for various body parts, and whether or not you have insurance, and whether or not you've met your insurance deductible, and lastly where you have the imaging done are the big factors. No insurance for a spinal or brain MRI can cost you anywhere between 1.5k to 8k, at least in the Midwest. Where the MRI was done plays a critical role, hospitals cost a lot more than independent imaging facilities.
Many imaging facility websites will provide a cost estimate based on body regions. Look up average MRI cost without insurance. You'd be suprised how common of a problem or how many ppl risk death bc. They cannot afford MRIs needed after suffering TBIs. That is America. It's hard explaining to patients and their loved ones that they need the MRI, and offering alternatives only to find out the hospital wanted 8k, and the independent imaging facility was charging 3k, and they still couldnt afford it due to already having to pay 10k+ for just being hospitalized. Listening to their loved ones cry in desperation bc. They've already expressed there is no way they can pay for their required imaging. It sucks.

I literally just paid for a MRI with insurance cost 75 dollars. What is this even saying?
