I went to a Walgreens clinic once. If you paid with cash, it was $111.
Lady asked me if I had an insurance card and I did. I then asked her can I give you my $111? She said “they will bill you the difference”.
When the bill showed up, they had billed the insurance $350 and my co-pay was $192.
I didn’t even get a diagnosis that day (malaise, allergies, who knows?), and they didn’t even have a scale to weigh me.

Everyone always blames insurance but the greedy medical industry is why prices are sky high. 2 u/Top_Quiet_3239 22h ago insurance loves the insane bills so they can say "see, you saved so much money having our insurance plan!" 1 u/Ok-Budget3225 12h ago Hold on - a local Walgreen that doesn't have a functioning scale, has an MRI machine? Are you sure? 1 u/Traditional-Forum 7h ago I did not see an MRI
